A leafy hello

Hello, crafting friends!

Welcome to a whole bunch of fun at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! It was my turn to devise the board this week and I hope you'll be so inspired you'll be making LOADS of cards :D

I chose the centre column for my card - Watercolour Techniques/Leaves/Shades of Orange/Yellow - and used Uniko's Nature's Treasure stencil which comes with a mask as well.

The masks were positioned onto a card base first and I sponged diluted blue ink around them before removing them, replacing with the stencil, and sponging orange and yellow inks into the leaves. I left the stencil in place while I splattered rust-coloured diluted ink, then removed it to add the black splatters.

The sentiment from Uniko's Floral Vines was heat embossed with white embossing powder on black card stock. I trimmed it and popped it up with dimensional pads.

So, now it's your turn! Which row or column will you choose? Do hop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge website to drool over the gorgeous samples made by my teamies. You'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post so that you can link up your own creation. I can't wait to see what you make!

CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up with Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge where Anything Goes; I'm also joining in with Just Us Girls where they are celebrating their 600th challenge (woohooo!) with a '6 of Anything' theme - I've added 6 leaves on my card; Leslie has chosen Watercolour Autumn Colours as the theme at CAS Mix Up this month and I'm playing along there too.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
Just when we thought autumn had arrived, summer decided to put in a late appearance and we've all been wandering about in shorts and fanning ourselves! Thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow and honestly, whoever is mucking about with the weather can you please stop now!

Sending hugs,

  4. Love your tic tac toe choices, Vicky. I would love to sqeeze in your challenge. I am really going to try:-) Still very busy with the veggie/fruit garden and apple trees. Only 1 tree ripe now. It is our 2nd tree to ripen. We were smart enough...almost 50 years ago to plant an Early (Yellow Transparent), Mid-season (Coos River Beauty) and Late-season (Jonathon) that we share with our bear/bears in October. Sometimes she brings her cub/cubs. She often has twins. We get what we want and then shake all the apples off the tree so they can pig out and NOT break branches when they climb the tree..lol! Always excitement in the country:-) TFS your CAS beauty, Vicky and...joining us at CAS Mix Up!

  6. Vicky, this is beautiful! It's CAS perfection, which is something I struggle with. You've got it down pat. I love the idea of a mask with the stencil as it certainly enabled you to do a lovely soft blue with rust-colored splatters around your leaf. The yellow and orange show up nicely and then finished off with the trailing black splatters. Thank you so much for playing along with us at CAS Mix Up Watercolor!
