Rustic Rooster birthday and wheeled gift wrap

My brother is a lovely man. I love his intelligence, his understanding, his honour, his generosity, his sense of humour - and that's just for starters! Today, I met him for breakfast at Starbucks to give him his birthday present and a card. He has recently rescued some battery hens and keeps them on his allotment - which may explain why I've used Rustic Rooster on his card and gift tag!

I really enjoyed making the gift wrap using a selection of wheels in a colour scheme of greens and brown on ordinary brown parcel paper.

The tag and some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon really add the finishing touches to the gift.

I tried to keep the card quite simple.  The main panel was daubed with ink, the hen and the feather coloured with markers and stamped on top and my favourite tag from Punches Three attached to it with Vintage brads. The panel was distressed and inked at the edges before matting onto Ruby Red card stock and then adhered to a Whisper White card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rustic Rooster (hostess set), Punches Three (hostess set), Vintage Labels
Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, More mustard
Card stock: Whisper White, Ruby Red
Other: Vintage brads, Earth Elements markers

The stamp sets used in this card are hostess sets - you can't buy them, but you can earn them as free gifts when you host a workshop. Stampin' Up are very generous to hostesses! You can not only earn free stamp sets, but also free products of your choice from the catalogue, depending on the orders made at your workshop. What better way to build up your craft collection?

I live in Buckingham and am quite happy to travel to the surrounding areas to hold a workshop for you. I will supply all materials and I guarantee you and your friends will have great fun! Why not check your diary and contact me to book a date? Then you can start making your wish list of all those free products...

See you soon!

  4. Hi Vicki, what a lovely idea to stamp your wrapping paper ... it looks absolutely gorgeous. Like the card also ... I always find making cards for the men in our life rather difficult and this fits the bill perfectly.
