These baubles come from a lovely Christmas stamp set called Tree Trimmings. There are three decorations to choose from - and they're all as gorgeous as each other! I stamped them here in Poppy Parade ink and decorated them with Stampin' Up's ultra-shiny self-adhesive rhinestones.
Now Poppy Parade may not be your first choice of red to use for Christmas projects but if you're stamping on kraft card stock, I'd highly recommend it. Some red inks go a bit muddy looking on kraft and while Poppy Parade does darken down a little, it really does keep its wonderful intensity of colour.
I used the sentiment from Contempo Christmas - which has to be my favourite 'merry Christmas' sentiment of all time! You can also see in this photo that the edge of the card stock has been sponged with Whisper White craft ink - a technique I use often with this card stock. This quick card is easy to make and easy to post card but the effect relies on accurate positioning so I'd say a stamp-a-majig is pretty much essential for making it.
Supplies needed for today's quick card:
Stamps: Tree Trimmings, Contempo Christmas (sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso, Poppy Parade, Whisper White craft ink
Card stock: Crumb Cake
Other: Basic rhinestones, stamp-a-majig

Things are getting quite autumnal around here so I've bought my youngest son a dressing gown. It's red and fluffy and he loves it. In fact he loves it so much that he wears it a lot. Quite a lot more than I had imagined. In fact I may have to buy him another one to wear when this one is in the wash! Oh well, who needs trousers anyway!
I hope you enjoyed today's quick card. I do love a nippy little card but tomorrow I'll be showing you something that took quite a lot longer than three minutes! Do you remember that sneaky peek I gave you yesterday? I can't wait to show you - do come back tomorrow and see!
See you then,

Fabulous, Vicky! I really love your stamping and those gorgeous baubles with rhinestones... the sentiment, too. The kraft card with red looks lovely and I love how you edged it with white. It may only have taken a few minutes to make, but it looks amazing!:)
ReplyDeleteI love these cards! They look like they take a lot longer than 3 minutes but can be stamped so quickly!

Hi Vicky
ReplyDeleteA beautiful Christmas card .. .. I don't think I have ever made a card in 3 minutes LOL!!
If only I could!!
Looking forward to the reveal of your sneaky peek .. .. the papers look gorgeous on it.
Love Jules xx
p.s. I would have to do something far worse than leave cards on the bed to warrant divorce!! In fact .. the 6ft table stayed in place all night ready for starting again today!! LOL!! I am well spoilt!
Vicky - another gorgeous card! Thanks for sharing! Hope you don't mind but I will be CASEing this! Nx

Beautiful card Vicky, I love the Poppy Parade baubles. Did you know this is on Pinterest already !!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments on my blog, the ribbon is 3/8 Taffeta in Pumpkin Pie.A xx
Fab card Vicky love the white edging gives it a fade away effect! Love your dressing gown story, my youngest son Keir loved anything that had a fleecy lining and used to just wriggle inside any clothes like that! Even now at 27, married and expecting his first child he will stroke anything that feels like that!

Vicky, What a quick and classy Christmas card, and I love the white sponged edges. I too may CASE the card like some of your other followers, you are such an inspiration Guru!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish my only Autumnal worry was the washing of a dressing gown!......my problem is the horse sized spiders that keep coming to join me on the sofa every evening! Last night while watching part 2 of the Appropriate Adult one ran over my foot...it was big enough to saddle it and ride it in the Grand National!!! Very traumatic few minutes I can tell you.
Looking forward to your reveal tomorrow

Just beautiful - I love the idea of a 'Three Minute Thursday' card. What a fun little card! I'm so hooked on kraft card stock these days and never thought to ink the edges with white. TFS!

Why can't I do something like this in 3 minutes, my stamping takes yonks and still doesn't look as great as this, probably 'cause you are so creative me thinks LOL
