Three Minute Thursday - Trendy Trees notecard

Three Minute Thursday is back here at Crafting Clare's Paper Moments! Every Thursday, I shall be posting a very fast card that can be made in mere minutes! You'll start to see Christmas card designs appearing here very soon too - perfect for building up a stash ready for the festive season.

There's no festive card today though - it's more autumnal really!

I've used the gorgeous, soft Naturals Ivory card stock for this design - it's wonderful to stamp on and a nice weight for one-layer cards. The tree is from Trendy Trees - a set that I bought before I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator. I remember being so excited about the 2-step design and practising using the stamp-a-majig over and over on a piece of rough paper! I love these stamps just as much today and the stamp-a-majig is a tool I just couldn't be without.

Do you like the effect on the leaves? It's a great technique - I inked the stamp up with More Mustard, tapped it randomly with Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke and Old Olive markers, huffed on it to remoisten the ink and stamped the image. The grass is doodled underneath and the image is finished with one of the sentiments from the set.

Supplies needed for today's card:
Stamps: Trend Trees
Ink: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard
Card stock: Naturals Ivory
Other: Markers, stamp-a-majig
You can buy any of these supplies from me and I can have them delivered to your address in the UK. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593. Click here to view the Last Chance List - full of stamps and accessories, some at up to 40% off, available only while stocks last.

Have you seen these young men that walk around with trousers worn so low on the hip it looks as if they're going to fall down?! I find it difficult to resist sneaking up behind them, giving the trousers a sharp tug and running off cackling! Perhaps I should just grow up...

Thank you for visiting Three Minute Thursday. If you have any comments, suggestions or ideas I'd love to hear from you - well actually I'd love to hear from you anyway! I'll be back tomorrow with a project I've got all excited about so do come and see what I've been up to if you have a minute.

  8. Morning Vicky. LOVE LOVE LOVE this card and thanks for describing how you did the leaves.

I'm with you on the boys and their trousers . . . it would be HILARIOUS to pull them up and run away "cackling". The very thought has me smiling!

The funniest thing is they all seem to have belts, maybe they need to be taught how to use them!! lol

  11. I read your trouser pulling comment as literal. I thought you meant you actually did it!!! Which would be fantastic to watch as they really do look a mess ;0)

This is a lovely card Vicky. I havent used this set for a long long time. I love the effect of the marker tapping on the stamp. Feels very New Englandy-Autumn ;0)

  17. Vicky, what a Fab simple card, and I love the 2 colour tones on the leaves.

If/when you do the trouser pull, make sure it's just the trousers that you get hold of!!!
