Christmas - a Beautiful Season!

It's November and I don't know about you but I am seriously thinking about Christmas now! I'm not the only one either - The St Lukes Charity Challenge this month is all about Christmas cards too. They'll be having a card sale on the 27th November to raise money for the hospice, so they'll need as many cards to be sent in as possible. Do help if you can - you'll find the address to send them on the side bar of the site.

Today I used a stamp set I've been dying to ink up for ages - come and see:

The stamp set is called Beautiful Season and I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. I love nature images and I knew the set would work brilliantly with the Holly Berry Bouquet papers to make vintage-style cards. Have you seen these papers yet? If you were a fan of the Springtime Vintage papers last season, you will adore the winter version! They're speciality papers too so some of them have a gorgeous glitter finish - I'll be using these papers a lot over the next few weeks so look out for them.

Here's a close-up of the bird, perched on a branch of holly. I coloured the rubber directly with markers and stamped the image, then filled in with more colour using a blender pen and ink. Can you see the shadow I've added to give depth? That's done with Sahara Sand - a great colour for this kind of thing!

I've added a few vintage-style details - such as the torn and curled corner and the bow, made out of sumptuous Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon. This was such fun, and if there were more hours in the day I'd have made a lot more cards using these papers and this gorgeous stamp set! Maybe tomorrow...!

Supplies needed for this card:
Stamps: Beautiful Season, Petite Pairs
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Real Red
Card stock: Naturals Ivory, Wild Wasabi
Other: Holly Berry Bouquet speciality paper, Regals markers, Cherry Cobbler seam binding, stamp-a-majig
I'd be delighted to order any of these supplies for you and I can have them delivered to your address in the UK. I am committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to help and advise. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.

I'm still chortling over Johnny English, the film I saw yesterday. I'm beginning to think I really should get out more! In fact yesterday was full of giggles - when we were looking at the dessert menu at Frankie and Benny's I collapsed (although fortunately not literally!) over a pudding called 'cookies and cream explosion'. It just sounded like the sort of accident that might occur in my kitchen!

Are you around tomorrow? It's Three Minute Thursday here and I'll have some quick cards to show you using more of the gorgeous Holly Berry Bouquet Christmas papers. Hope to see you then.

Hugs,

  13. Hi Vicky. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. You asked if it is usual to have snow in october in New Jersey... It certainly is not. It was the strangest thing - snow on the pumpkin. Anyway, this card is so gorgeous. I just love that image and you have colored it so beautifully. And yes, that ribbon is lucious. Such a wonderful ensemble!
