Three Minute Thursday - Young Vermillions on a branch

Good morning! It's time for another in my weekly series of quick cards and guess which stamp I'm using today? Yes, I've been using my new Young Vermillion stamp all week and I'm definitely not finished with it yet! Are you wondering how you'd use it for a fast card? Well, come and see what I've done:

With a stamp-a-majig it is brilliantly easy to line some Young Vermillions up on a single branch! Don't you just love it?!! I tidied up the joins of the branch and extended the branch with the fine end of a marker. The birds were left uncoloured except for a scribble of watercolour pencil shading on their heads and backs, and a little black marker for their eyes.

The sentiment was stamped in Poppy Parade, my red of choice for stamping on Crumb Cake card stock because it stays beautifully bright.  I sponged the edges of the card with Whisper White craft ink to draw the eye in too.

Supplies needed for these cards:
Stamps: Young Vermillion, Thank You Kindly
Ink: Early Espresso, Poppy Parade, Whisper White craft ink
Card stock: Crumb Cake
Other: Water colour pencils, Neutrals markers, stamp-a-majig
I'd be delighted to order any of these supplies for you and I can have them delivered to your address in the UK. I am committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to help and advise. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.

Talking of Poppy Parade, my children are attending various services and parades to commemorate fallen soldiers. My daughter was talking to me today about her school service which will be held on Friday. "They're telling us to make sure we have a good breakfast and plenty of sleep," she said. When I asked why, she explained that every year some children faint from having to stand still for an hour. And then she said something that made me feel very proud of her. "I always worry about the veterans," she said, "having to watch the lightweights being carried out because they had to stand up for a bit. When you think of the things those men must have gone through..."

Thank you for coming to visit me today and thank you too for the comments and emails you leave me. Sometimes I have no way of getting back to you, which saddens me as I like to reply to everyone, but I'd like you to know that I appreciate every one.

I'll be back tomorrow with something I had a wonderful time making. Do come back then and have a look if you have a minute!

  18. Looks like they're all waiting in a row for their Mum to come back and feed them - lovely card!, Just goes to show we don't need lots of embellishments on a card for it to look fab. I think in these days when we could probably all do with tightening our belts a little that we should be making more of what crafty stash we do buy - this stamp has certainly earned its keep.
