Up Up and Away yellow balloon

Life has been pretty busy in our household for the last few weeks so it was lovely to have a Saturday morning free to play along with some challenges. As it turned out I had more time than expected because I woke up at what felt like an hour before I went to bed! It's a colour challenge at Less is More with the colour in question being yellow, and there's a birthday theme over at CAS-ual Fridays, where they're celebrating the first anniversary of the challenge. Come and see what I made:

You may notice that my card reflects the unearthly hour at which I got up! I decided to stamp my scene onto textured card stock for a bit of a 'canvas' look.

The balloon is from my new Up, Up and Away stamp set which arrived yesterday much to my excitement (in fact, I've been having a lovely play with it so I'll have lots more to show you in the week ahead.)

The trees are from Lovely as a Tree, one of my favourite sets of all time. I masked off the ground and sponged in the sky with Daffodil Delight to give a golden sunrise look. You often see this kind of scene around Buckinghamshire on a peaceful summers morning with the hot air balloon seeming to hang in the sky.

Sentiments stamp really well on the textured card stock which may surprise you. This lovely hand-written style sentiment is from the hostess set Happiest of Birthdays.

By the way, if you'd love one of the exclusive hostess sets but don't want to host a party, you might consider joining my Stampers 6 club. Click here for more information.

Here's what you'll need to make today's card:
Stamps: Up Up and Away, Lovely as a Tree, Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight
Card stock: Whisper White smooth and textured
Other: Stamp-a-majig
I'd be delighted to order any of these items for you and can have them delivered to your address in the UK. I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to offer help and advice. To place your order, just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.

I can't tell you how exhausted I am after this post! I think our cat Tuppence has the right idea and I could well be joining her shortly!

Do visit me again on Monday when I'll be joining the lovely ladies at Make My Monday as guest designer. They have a new theme this month and will be kicking off with a challenge that I know lots of you will enjoy.

Have a fun weekend!
