Patriotic, glitzy Blossom Petals

There have been lots of Jubilee parties going on in the UK over the last few days - in fact we had a lovely time at my friend's garden party yesterday! A red, white and blue colour scheme feels so right for any kind of card at the moment so I thought I'd make another 'Red, white and blue' entry for Less is More and 'Put a bling on it' as required by the CAS-ual Fridays challenge. Come and see:

The idea of making flowers using the Blossom Petals punch and the fabulous red glimmer paper has been buzzing about in my head for a long time (so long in fact that you can't buy the glimmer paper any more although I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will return in the new catalogue in October in time for festive makes!)

I arranged my punched petals on the main panel and glued them down before trimming off the excess at the edges with my sharp paper snips. The centres of the flowers are cut out with my 1/2" circle punch and finished with a large rhinestone.

The card is finished with a sentiment in Pacific Point and the panel matted onto matching card stock before being popped up on a textured card base using dimensionals.

Here's what you'll need to make today's card:
Stamps: Thank You Kindly
Ink: Pacific Point
Card stock: Pacific Point, Whisper White textured and smooth
Other: Red glimmer paper (retired), Blossom Petals and 1/2" circle punches, Basic rhinestones, paper snips, stamp-a-majig
I'd be delighted to order any of these items for you and can have them delivered to your address in the UK. I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to offer help and advice. To place your order, just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.

It's a shame that some of the jubilee events of the last couple of days have been marred by rain but there have been stiff upper lips and indomitable spirits and I love the way people in the UK hang out bunting in the streets at the drop of a hat! When we drove through Monmouth on our scenic route home at the weekend, I had to stop to take a photo of their high street - doesn't this just make you want to party?! My husband had just made me hoot with laughter by saying: "We'll be travelling home through the Wye Valley. Any questions?"

Enjoy your extended jubilee holiday if you're having one and have a happy Tuesday if you're not. I'll be getting a bit 'edgy' tomorrow, so do come and join me then.

Hugs,

  1. What a wonderful pairing of colors and glam! And I've been enjoying all sorts of programs on television about the Jubilee here too!

Now, I hope I'm not giving away any state secrets, but if my new catalog is anything like your October catalog then you have nothing to worry about on the red glimmer paper score!
