Magical Christmas night

I'm so pleased that the number of clean and simple challenges is on the increase as I love this style of card-making. One of my favourite sites is CASology - and I'm not just saying that because I was lucky enough to win with this leaf card last week! The cue card for this week is 'Night' which set me thinking...

The middle of the night might be the time we wake up worrying about life for most of the year (well I do anyway!) but on Christmas night it's different... then, there's a touch of magic in the air. This is my take on that hour when nature seems to be holding its breath.

The trees were veramarked and clear embossed, the snow and the moon masked off and the sky sponged in before stamping the trees again, this time in StazOn ink, using my stamp-a-majig to offset them. To finish my scene, I added texture to the snow with white embossing powder and added tiny touches of Dazzling Diamonds glitter with my two-way glue pen.

The glitter helps the scene to avoid looking too sombre for Christmas (it is much more glittery in real life) but I added this really exuberant sentiment in Real Red to liven things up even more!

Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Sassy Salutations (sentiment)
Ink: Midnight Muse, Real Red, StazOn black
Card stock: Naturals White
Other: Versamark, clear and white embossing powders, heat tool, Itty Bitty Punch pack (for the moon), Dazzling Diamonds glitter, stamp-a-majig
I'd be delighted to order any of these items for you and have them delivered straight to your address in the UK, France, Deutschland, Nederland or Osterreich. I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to offer help and advice. To place your order, just send me an email or give me a call on +44 (0) 1280 820593.

My daughter was helping me cook dinner last night and was in charge of making the plum crumble. When she asked which size dish she should use, I advised her to prepare the plums first and see which one they fit in best. "Look at you," she said admiringly (or was that sarcastically?!) "You're practically a hints and tips book!"

Would you like to hear my tip for a great weekend? Do loads of crafting of course! (I don't need to tell you that though do I?!) Have an excellent weekend and I shall see you very soon,

  5. Love your card Vicky - this is my style of card and just goes to show how beautiful a card can be without adding lots of embellishments which not only adds to the time needed to make it, but also a significant amount to the postage. I'm all for making savings - more to spend on SU goodies!

  11. Brilliant idea to firstly stamp with versamark and then offset them using Stazon, would never have thought of that. Beautiful card as usual.
