Horse Frontier and texture

I love designs with special areas for an image to fit into and today's card is a good example of that with its scored 'frame'.  I made the card for a lovely friend of mine who combines her love of horses and people (amongst many, many other things!) by helping run a riding group for disabled children. Come and see:

I'm fascinated by the horse from Horse Frontier! It looks quite strange uncoloured but I love the way it looks when it's been coloured - in this case with ink and an aquapainter.

The sentiment (another beauty from A Word For You) was added with a stamp-a-majig so I could position it where I wanted it and Bashful Blue ink sponged over everything.

I subtle-embossed some Bashful Blue card stock using my Woodgrain folder and added some scalloped piercing using my piercing templates. The horse panel was held over the pierced card stock so I could carry on the scalloped piercing over it before glueing both sections to the card front. The scoring detail was added using my stamp-a-majig imaging sheet as a 'buffer' so that all the lines ended up the same length.

I'll enter this card into the challenge at Addicted to CAS where Embossing is the cue word this week.

Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: Horse Frontier, A Word For You
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Bashful Blue
Card stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Other: Woodgrain embossing folder, Big Shot, Simply Scored, Essentials piercing templates, piercing tool, stamp-a-majig, aquapainter, markers

During the holidays, my husband volunteered to make pizza for the rest of us while we watched TV.  We are fans of Rolf Harris' Animal Clinic and were delighted to see there was a one-off episode airing that evening. The show featured a horse with colic - a dangerous condition in horses. The vet decided to operate and we watched, mesmerised, as metres of horse intestine were pulled out on screen...  just as my husband brought the pizza in! I don't remember ever feeling quite so unenthusiastic about eating...

See you tomorrow,
