Three Minute masculine washi tape card

Things have been so manic around here lately that I haven't had time to get going on my This and That journal (although I have heaps of ideas!) but I've not been able to resist the lure of the washi tape that came in the bundle - I'm LOVING it!!! It's perfect for making quick cards too - like this masculine card I made for my Three Minute Thursday spot today. Come and see:

Washi tape is a bit like masking tape (only a bit shinier and heaps more decorative!) and you can tear it easily. The This and That washi tapes  - you can see them in the photo above - are lovely and edgy and coordinate beautifully.

To make this card, I stamped my panel with the splodge image from French Foliage, using Crumb Cake and Basic Grey inks, then added strips of washi tape quite randomly over the top. Can you see how the inking shows nicely through the translucent tape? Those coral asterisks at the top were stamped with the This and That rotary stamp - another thing I'm really excited about!

The card was finished with this blocky happy birthday sentiment from Stampin' Up's Essentials stamp set which I find really useful for male cards.
• Don't forget the This and That range is available in a super-value bundle until 30th May 2013. See this post for details.

Here's what you'll need to make these cards
Stamps: French Foliage, Essentials, This and That rotary stamp

The other day, when my youngest son came in from school, I asked him how his day had been. "Average," he replied gloomily. "Well that's a bonus then!" I said encouragingly. "Isn't Wednesday the day with your least favourite lessons? So you went expecting it to be a bad day and in fact it turned out to be average - that's great!" He looked at me. "It's Tuesday today," he said.

I think it's Friday tomorrow (although I could be wrong!) and I'll be back with another project. See you then!

  14. This is lovely Vicky. I have recently bought some washi tape myself and am experimenting with it and finding out how it 'behaves' if you know what I mean. It's such cool stuff it may become a regular in my stash now.
