Thank you (for the Sale-a-bration freebies!)

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up demonstrator is getting hold of all the fabulous new products before they're available to the public. I've had my Sale-a-bration goodies since before Christmas for example and the beautiful Banner Blast stamp set came in very handy for these thank you cards! Come and have a look:

The design works for all sizes of card as you can see (I was using up some off cuts!) The banners are stamped along a line drawn with the fine end of a Crumb Cake marker, using my stamp-a-majig to make sure I got them where I wanted them.

I chose this punchy sentiment from Four You, stamping it over the top of the banners, then attached my stamped panel on a Soft Sky card base.

The boys and I went to see the second Hobbit film at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We're all big Lord of the Rings fans and have watched the films over and over - so many times in fact that we can all quote whole scenes! One of our favourite scenes is this one, where the flag of Rohan is whipped from the flagpole by the wind and flutters to the ground past Aragorn as he rides into Edoras. We often re-enact this scene while making dinner - a tea towel makes an excellent flag and we've all become very adept at assuming surprised expressions as it wafts past! It's comedy gold I assure you but, since I don't have a video of it, you'll have to put up with Viggo Mortensen performing the scene instead!

See you tomorrow,

  3. I finally am having some time while laid up in bed with this cold to catch up on visiting. Thank you for your anniversary wishes and note about being AWOL. I'm afraid I'm guilty of that, too, Vicky. When you reciprocate comments and one of you gets off the trail, then both of you do!

I have to say that things should quiet down for me so I can get back into my visiting routine because I do hate to miss your posts. Scrolling back through the ones I've missed is almost too much delight at one time! You know I don't think you've ever made a card I didn't love!

I hope you are enjoying your week! Mwah! Darnell

  5. Now, THAT, I would like to see! Poor old Eowyn, I always think she gets a bum deal, Aragorn would have been better off with her than wishy-washy Arwen, who only has anything to do in the first book/film. Tolkein really didn't do female characters, did he?
But back to the cards - lovely, Vicky! xxx
