Try Pistachio Pudding for a male birthday!

The hectic summer holidays have made it tricky to join in with the lovely ladies at Less is More so it was lovely to be able to come up with a card for this week's Mint and Chocolate colour challenge. Come and see:

Stampin' Up has a gorgeous minty green called Pistachio Pudding and a dark chocolate called Early Espresso (!) Both colours come in ink, card stock, markers, designer paper, embellishments... well, coordination is what Stampin' Up does best! I thought the combination would make a great male card!

I used Amazing Birthday, which is my 'go to' birthday set at the moment. I love the sentiment, which can be split up with scissors as I did here, and there are three useful circular images which cut out quickly and neatly with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I made a split panel and cut out a circle for the cake image to nestle into.

I hope I've shown you that ice cream colours can certainly be used for male cards. Click here for more of my male card ideas.

If you read my blog regularly, you'll know that I'm constantly on the lookout for good ice cream. While we were on holiday in Kent this year we found ourselves fancying an ice cream in sunny Broadstairs. My husband said he thought he could remember an ice cream shop further along the promenade and when we got there it turned out to be a Morelli's - king of ice cream parlours! That's like ordering a taxi cab and a Bentley turning up!

The ice cream is delicious at Morelli's and there's a nostalgic feel about the decor. A word of warning about those little round pink cushions though - when you get up they have a habit of wanting to go with you!

See you tomorrow,

  6. Love the colour combo.
I had to smile at your comment about ordering a taxi and having a Bentley turn up. Three years ago when we stayed with Dad's cousin in Sevenoaks, Kent, and had been into London for the day, I laughed and laughed when she told us on the phone her hubby would pick us up from the station in his Bentley!
