Heat embossed snowy scene using Holiday Home from Stampin' Up

I am fond of making a scene (as my family will readily tell you!) and  Stampin' Up's Holiday Home stamp set is perfect for that. Today I'm showing you a simple, snowy Christmas card I made with it - come and see:

Isn't this little house so cute in its snowy garden?! I bet if you opened the front door the smell of warm mince pies and mulled wine would come wafting out!

To make the card, I smeared the bottom of a Crumb Cake panel with versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder to create a snowy ground The house and the trees were stamped in versamark and the snowflakes dotted in with my 2-way glue pen and then I heat embossed those with the white embossing powder too.

I added a touch of colour to the house with Blendabilities markers and added snow to the roof with my Stampin' Chalk marker. The snowflakes are from the Frosted Sequins embellishments tub - so many lovely shiny things in there to add to your projects!

This is such a lovely sentiment at Christmas I think. I always like the idea of everyone hunkering down in their homes for a few days with their families!

I'll be linking this card up with Merry Mondays where the challenge is to create a rustic card using creams, tans and browns.
