I love using my Stampin' Up inks to sponge scenes and find Naturals Ivory card stock perfect for this. It's thick enough to make a nice, sturdy one layer card too.
The area was masked off with sticky notes and the scene stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I sponged in a wintery sky and coloured the snowy ground with my Stampin' Chalk marker. That marker is brilliant for detail too - I added snow to the trees with it and the speckles on the deer too.
I thought you might find it handy to see a photo of the masked card before stamping. (Doesn't that sound exciting? The mysterious masked card!)
I'll be linking this card up with 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown which has Christmas Windows as its theme this week; and Less is More, where the challenge is to make a card with More Than One Tree.

Are you wondering what my secret might be? Well, regular readers of my blog might remember that we have an imaginary dog in our house - a Golden Retriever named Aramis. He has accompanied us on our family walks and entertained us with his antics but, as my oldest son has often reminded me, it's not the same as having a real dog. We've thought about getting a dog over the last few years. Perhaps a puppy...
... like this adorable little cutie?
Her name is Eva and, tomorrow morning, I'll be bringing her home. Please be gentle with me - I may be a little sleep deprived for a while...!
See you tomorrow,
Oh Vicky, she is cute!! And your card is beautiful. I love the one layer look.
ReplyDeleteEveline.
Oh Vicky your card is more realistic than mine. I do love your sponging effects. Enjoy your new pup.

Another beautiful card!
ReplyDeletePlease give Eva lots of cuddles from me (and a few extra from Cory - Max doesn't do cuddles but would happily shake her paw!). I wish you and your family every happiness with your new bundle of fluff.

Your card is stunning Vicky I love it.
ReplyDeleteEva is adorable you'll love having a puppy we've always had dogs and life wouldn't be the same without them. I'm sure you won't be sleep deprived for long, you just need to be strong and not get up to her every time she cries. I find a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel in their bed for the first few nights works wonders plus a cuddly toy
Enjoy

I think you captured the magical effect you wanted with both your card picture and your puppy picture.
ReplyDeleteGood luck for tomorrow. Antiseptic wet wipes to the ready! xxxx
Oops . . . I meant anti-bacterial/disinfectant wipes not antiseptic!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant effect for a one layer card Vicky.... That scene made me shiver because of the snowy landscape!!!
ReplyDeleteEva is adorable and well worth the sleepless nights at first.... Oh and keep a check on your wooden backed stamps too!! Puppies love to chew them....ask me how I know *wink* xx
Oh boy, this card is a stunner! I predict a LIM winner for sure! And speaking of winner....your little pup brought a winning smile to me! I predict less stamping time and more "walking the dog" time, LOL!
