Bloom with Hope in a hedgerow!

I've remarked before that my stamping is often inspired by the beautiful, peaceful English countryside, especially since I now get to go romping over the fields with my adorable pup Eva. One of the stamp sets that I find myself reaching for again and again is the gorgeous sketched floral set Bloom with Hope. Come and see:

I do a lot of recall training with Eva while we're out which I'm sure would amuse a casual onlooker no end! She goes bounding off in front, ears flopping, and I dive into a hedge and flatten myself before using the recall command. It's quite comical to see her skid to a halt and look around wondering where on earth I've got to! She probably thinks I'm rather accident prone! Anyway, today's card features the kind of scene I get to see while indulging in this odd behaviour!

The card is very easy to make. Ink is sponged through a mask with an aperture cut into it with an oval framelit. The flowers are stamped on top before removing the mask. I used markers to colour them and doodle some extra leaves and some dots to give the suggestion of insects buzzing away - it's a hive of industry in the hedgerows you know!

I like this doodle-style greeting that comes with the set too and it works very well for this simple, unspoilt country look. I finished my card with a little butterfly, stamped with one of the Papillon Potpourri stamps, coloured with markers and cut out with the Bitty Butterfly punch - SUCH a useful pair of products for producing these embellishments!

Bloom with Hope is one of Stampin' Up's exclusive hostess stamp sets. You can earn hostess sets for free when you place orders of £150 or more. The order placed can be a single order or a group order so it's well worth stocking up on basics and/or showing your catalogue to friends and family!
This set will no longer be available after 2nd June.

I really do highly recommend having a lie down in a wild meadow or hedgerow as it's very relaxing and therapeutic and amazing to see the variety of plants and hear all the little insects buzzing about. I do feel it's best done with a canine partner though, so you have the training excuse in case someone catches you!

See you tomorrow when I'll have some more blooming nonsense to share!

  1. A really beautiful card Vicky - I love this set - J xx

  2. Very very pretty scenic summer card here Vicky. I can just picture you diving into hedgerows and Eva wondering where you've got to NOW!

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  3. Love your card!

I'm assuming you do the diving into hedgerows etc when the weather has been nice and dry. I can't imagine you covered in mud and leaves, soaking wet, traipsing home with Eva!

  4. What a really pretty card. I love the idea of you hiding to recall Eva and can imagine her expression when she skids to a halt and realises she can't see you. Your story reminds me of when Max was a puppy.

  5. Beautiful card Vicky, love the butterfly too.

We used to hide from our dog and when she went ahead would walk back the way we had come, she soon came running after us, it taught her not to go too far ahead. I like the idea of laying in a wild meadow, will have to go and look for one LOL.

  6. Beautiful card, as always, Vicky! Love your adventures with your pup x

  7. You are so adorable. What a gorgeous card and a fun little story to go with while I'm sipping my first cup of tea for the day! I hope you had a fantastic Mother's Day week-end!

Do leave me a comment - it always makes my day! Vicky x
