The circle of kindness

Hello crafting friends!

I've always loved CAS(e) this Sketch challenges and this week's sketch is a cracker!

This is my take on it:

It's a very quick and easy card made using the Concorde and 9th stamp sets Beautiful Branches and Enjoy it all. I stamped a panel with this lovely sentiment from Beautiful Branches, then decorated it with some beautiful two-step flowers from Enjoy it All. I used Stampin' Up's Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks for the flowers with Granny Apple Green leaves.

The next step was to cut out the sentiment and parts of the flowers with a 2 1/4" circle punch. I matted this with a circle cut with a 2 1/2" punch (had to use Lucky Limeade as I don't have Granny Apple card stock - grrr!) This was glued over the hole in the panel and the panel attached to the card base.

The card was finished with a few sparkly gems and, I have to say, it took longer to type this than to make the card! I can't remember what the technique is called - can anyone help?

AND IN OTHER NEWS
All this talk of green reminded me of a note left in the kitchen for me by my youngest son.

He's off to uni in a month or two, to study drama. And, reading this note, I think that's the best place for him, don't you?!

Thanks for popping in today. I have another challenge card to show you tomorrow if you have a minute :)

I can't remember the name of the technique either, but love your take on it, and your sons note is so funny. Missed you, wishing you well with everything xxx

  3. I don't know the name either, but whatever it is, you have done it REALLY beautifully, love the clean colours also. As for your sons note, Yep! he'll do well in Drama LOL. So funny, I wonder if he will remember to buy it when from home?

    1. Aw, thank you Faith!
Haha, I don't think he'll be buying posh green tea as a student, but there might be some red cross parcels from home ;)

  4. I love purple and these little flowers frame your sentiment beautifully. I’m not sure about the technique - it’s a bit lke triple layer stamping, but only done once. Whatever it’s called, it’s very pretty! As for your son - a definite actor in the making, possibly one who will require regular food parcels to see him through too!!

  5. Beautiful card, which I think uses the spotlight technique. I can't believe your baby boy is off to uni... time really does fly... but agree that drama will be the best course for him xoxo

  6. Oh, you've made me think now Em, but no I don't think it's the spotlight technique... isn't that where you pick a bit of an image and highlight it with colour? Haha, we ALL think drama is the best course for my son!

  7. Very cleverly done, that's a great technique I'd forgotten about!
Those colours look gorgeous together too. Love the note, I'm not surprised your youngest wants to follow a career involving the Drama arts!! :)
