Hello crafting friends!
Autumn is beautiful isn't it - even in the drizzle! But it doesn't last long, so I need to get going with some autumnal crafting before the bleak mid-winter sets in! I no longer have any leafy stamps sadly... but I DO have a cunning plan! Come and see:

I know - LEAVES!!! These ash leaves (admittedly an extremely obscure variety!) are actually leaves from my Wplus9 Modern Roses stamp set. They leapt out at me today and I suddenly decided to disguise them with autumn colour! They are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with a variety of Spectrum Noir and Stampin' Up Blendabilites alcohol markers.
This card was inspired by the colours on this gorgeous inspiration photo at Paperbabe Stamps Challenge:
I shall also link up with Stamping Sensations where the challenge this month is Trees and/or Leaves and/or Autumn.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
My youngest son actually found some time (between parties!) to phone today. He is enjoying his course and working hard, has made lots of friends and is coping financially. "Are you eating properly?" I heard myself bleat anxiously. "Yes, I'm eating fruit," he replied. "Oh, and I can eat salads now because I've found they taste delicious with Pizza Express dressing!" I shall have to remember to tuck a few bottles in his Christmas stocking this year!
Thanks for dropping in today for a bit of autumn cheer. Are you an autumn person? Or does the first hint of chilliness make you feel like hibernating? Let me know in the comments below :)
Hugs,
What a wonderful CAS Autumnal card, Vicky! Those leaves fit the theme perfectly (Definitely could be ash or rowan) I love it! Thanks so much for joining in at Stamping Sensations this month and Good Luck! Thanks also for your lovely comment on my blog too xxx
ReplyDeleteThey look like ash or rowan to me too if I don't have my glasses on lol! Thanks for the fun challenge :)

Great thinking Vicky to use the leaves from your rose stamp set. Your card is beautifully CAS and I like the touch of red in your leaves as it gives them the perfect autumnal look. Thank you for joining us in our 'Trees, leaves or Autumn' challenge at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra! I'm loving the Stamping Sensations challenges :)

Better get plenty of Pizza Express dressing in stock then as their business is likely to go down the pan!!! I hear they are are in massive debt. You can get their sauce in supermarkets (at the moment!).
ReplyDeleteLOVELY autumnal card by the way! Love those leaves and how you've coloured them.

I'll be a bit sad to see Pizza Express go under :/ Still, those salad dressings will be a bargain if they do!
DeleteThank you!

ReplyDeleteThanks lovely Jacqueline! Colouring gems with alcohol markers has been a game changer for me! xx
DeleteFall is my favorite season when it finally cools off and hopefully we will see some bright colors in the trees. Your Fall leaves are beautiful falling across the card!
ReplyDeleteI love the beauty of the autumn but it takes getting used to those dark mornings and that nip in the air!
DeleteBeautiful card, Vicky. I love fall's beauty but unfortunately not the temperature. Gimme hot summer all year round and I would be very happy! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same Em! I think I'm in mourning for the warmth :/
