Butterfly in the meadow

Hello crafting friends!

There are beginning to be a lot more butterflies about when I take Eva for walks these days. I love seeing them fluttering about among the wild flowers and thought it was time to feature one on a card. Come and see:

My new In the Meadow stamp set by Funky Fossil was the perfect set for this CAS, one layer card. I started by masking the edges of one corner of a thick card base with sticky notes and blending a little green distress ink out to a fade. With the mask still in place, I stamped my wild flower, inking up with water-based markers to get a two-colour image.

Once the mask was removed. I stamped the smaller of the set's two butterflies and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted's Friendship Fuchsias in black. The butterfly was coloured with a white gel pen and water-based markers, and I added detail to the flower heads.

EDITED TO ADD AN AWARD:
So delighted that this card was chosen as the winner at AAA Cards!

CHALLENGES
I was so excited by the beautiful inspiration photo at AAA Cards that I couldn't resist joining in!

AND IN OTHER NEWS
Eva spends her days pottering about wherever I am, snoozing or giving me a hand with the chores. Her inner clock never fails her though and she knows exactly when we should be going out for a walk or having a meal.

Here she is keeping a watchful eye on me as it's coming up for afternoon walkies time and after that it will be tea time and these are VERY important moments in a pup's life!

Sending hugs to my visitors and followers,

  3. Pretty wildflowers and butterfly, Vicky! We're not seeing many butterflies this year and that worries me. Glad you are seeing lots and gave us a lovely butterfly to admire!

    1. We had an early spring this year but I don't think the flowers the butterflies feed from come out until later. So lovely to see them!

  5. A beautiful corner of a peaceful meadow Vicky and I could be there right now - I do fantasy very well.

Their internal clocks never fail to amaze me and heaven forbid that we run late with those important things, for sure they won't let us forget.

    1. Thanks Ishani! In real life the butterflies seem to have disappeared again because of the rain :(
