Tropical hugs

Hello, crafting friends!

Summer has returned to the heart of England and I'm feeling the tropical vibes!

I own a grand total of two embossing folders, one of which had an outing today. It's called Tropical Frame and I found it in the sale section of Hobbycraft last year. I ran it through my Big Shot and coloured a section of it with coloured pencils before trimming it out and mounting it on a slightly larger piece of card stock.

The strip was attached to a card base and I added a popped-up sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio's Perfect Sentiments, stamped in hot pink and cut out. The card was finished with some enamel dots to match the embossed strip.

CHALLENGES

I used Amy's wonderful colour combination at The Color Throwdown for this card and Narelle's fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches so I'm linking up there; I'm also joining in with Perfectly CAS where the challenge is to use up to a third of the card base to make a clean and simple card featuring wet or dry embossing; Embossing is also the theme at The Sisterhood of Crafters so I'm playing there too.

AND IN OTHER NEWS

Sometimes I decide that Eva needs to have extra fun! One of my favourite things to do for her is to raid the recycle bin for boxes and newspaper and wrap an extra yummy snack in different layers for her to unravel. She is VERY keen on this game! She has to do obedience training for a little while first (which she also loves) and then I place the package outside and let her go to it.

She always looks at me and waits for the YES command (photo on the left.) Can you see how focused that look is? Once I give the go ahead she tears into the package. I love watching her do this with intense concentration and her adorable 'smoosh face' (see photo on the right.)
