Hello, crafting friends!
It was a beautiful spring-like day yesterday here in the heart of England, with blue skies, bright sunshine and pretty spring flowers putting on a lovely show everywhere. It wasn't entirely the right day for making Christmas cards but hey, any day is a good day for making Christmas cards when you're a crafter!
This is a simple one layer card made with The Greetery's Boughs and Branches. You build up the bouquet with the layering stencils and then add detail with the coordinating stamps. I thought it might be tricky but it is surprisingly easy :)
When I've used this set in the past, I've masked the bouquet with the mask included in the set and inked in a background, but I wanted to keep this card nice and clean and simple so I left the background uncoloured. The only embellishment I added was the shine on the berries which I added with a white Posca acrylic paint pen.
CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up with Jingle Belles where the challenge is to use a stencil (and thanks for making me laugh with your blog post title!); also Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge where Anyything Goes; the theme at ABC Christmas is a choice of C for CAS or D for Distressed - I chose the CAS option; and I'm also just in time to join in with Rudolph Day where we make a Christmas card on the 25th of each month (and have until the end of the month to link it up.)
AND IN OTHER NEWS
Eva and I walked home from the park the long way today and passed this street sign which never fails to make me laugh:
Eva: "Can we just go up this road mum? We don't have to stay long - I'll only be LOOKING!"
That’s a lovely Christmas bouquet of a card. Nice and colourful but uncluttered. Perfect! Xxx
