There is a hint of vintage about this card which pleased me. The flowers are the inside of the gorgeous medallion background stamp, printed on brocade blue cardstock, cut out and finished with a pearl.
Supplies (all Stampin' Up unless specified):
Stamps: Medallion backgrounds stamp, Occasional Greetings
Ink: Bordering Blue, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Whisper White, Brocade Blue
Other: Corner Rounder, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Pearls (from elsewhere - because I don't have my Pretties kit yet!)
We have always had a tradition of making cards for one another in our family and each mothers day and birthday I look forward to seeing the amazing creations my children have come up with. They are often innovative - I remember an intricate teapot-shaped card with a teabag inside with a heart tag on it and also a beautiful pocket card that contained a voucher for a special hug. They can be unintentionally funny too - my son once gave me a gorgeous birthday card inside which he'd written: "Even though you're getting old I know that inside you're just a big kid"! I treasure them all.
Thanks for looking!
See you soon
Stunning card! Love the combo of vintage and CAS - great idea for this sketch!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing this week!
Simple, beautiful and gorgeous modern vintage feel. This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe medallion stamp is my faaavvorrittee!!!! I love how you've layered it.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you overlapped the medallion images. I had never thought to do that. And the flowers/pearls are a great idea, too. So sweet that your family makes cards for each other. One Mother's Day I got a card that my son had made me at Sunday School. The inside said, "I love my mommy because she gives me water." I think he was about 3 at the time. It cracked me up. No wonder I was never in the running for mother of the year (haha).
ReplyDeleteI am liking those layered medallions. Nice touch!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Card. I just love this stamp used in this fashion and done two-tone. Fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...love the stamped off effect to get coordinating colors with the same ink color! Thanks for playing along with Stamping 411 this week!
