Pizza-style gift boxes

What do you think of these pretty little boxes? They open up on a sort of hinge like a pizza box. I think they're perfect for little gifts such as jewellery items, watches and little gadgets - or how about using them to package a couple of homemade cookies? I made these boxes are 3" (7.5 cm) square and 1" (2.5 cm) high, but you can make them whatever size you like really. Click here for a tutorial.

And when you've made them, you can settle down to some fabulous fun decorating them!

Here's a brief guide to mine:

PINK BOX made from Pretty In Pink card stock. Striped paper from the Sweet Pea designer paper stack matted onto Regal Rose card stock. Click here for flower details. Flower adhered to Old Olive cardstock punched with the scallop circle punch. Box is tied with Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

LEAF BOX made from Soft Suede card stock. Striped paper from the Sweet Pea designer paper stack matted onto Soft Suede, then Bashful Blue card stock. Leaf from Autumn Splendor stamp set stamped in Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla card stock, then coloured in Old Olive ink with a blender pen. Leaf is cut out and affixed to box with a dimensional.

FOR YOU BOX made from Soft Suede card stock. More Soft Suede card stock matted onto patterned paper from the Sweet Pea designer paper stack, then onto Old Olive card stock. For You sentiment from Vintage Labels stamped on Whisper White card stock in Old Olive ink. Leaf image from Tiny Tags stamp set stamped around the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. The sentiment image is fitted into a frame from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit and the frame attached to the panel with brads.

PURPLE BOX made from Orchid Opulence card stock. Always Artichoke card stock matted onto Elegant Eggplant card stock. Two silk flowers from the Pretties kit are layered with Old Olive card stock punched with a flower from the Boho Blossoms punch and secured with a large rhinestone brad also from the Pretties kit. Leaves are Old Olive cardstock punched with wings from the two step bird punch. Box is tied with Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

RAZZLEBERRY BOX made from Rich Razzleberry card stock. Cottage Wall designer paper matted onto Pale Plum card stock. Flowers are made from Pale Plum and Rich Razzleberry card stock, punched with the Boho Blossoms and 5 Petal punches and finished with pearls from the Pretties kit. The leaves are made from Certainly Celery card stock punched with the two step bird punch. Box is tied with Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon.

BLUE BOX made from Bashful Blue card stock. Whisper White card stock matted onto Designer Series Paper in Bashful Blue, then onto Whisper White card stock. Flowers are made by punching circles out of Bashful Blue Designer Series Paper, cutting into spirals and rolling up from the outside. They are finished with a pearl from the Pretties kit and the leaves are made from Certainly Celery card stock punched with the two step bird punch. Box is tied with Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon.

Well okay - maybe not so brief! If you'd like any more details feel free to contact me.
I loved making these boxes and found the trickiest bit stopping! They may just crop up again on my blog...

Tomorrow, I've got some feminine cards made with the Autumn Meadows designer paper. Yes - feminine! Hope to see you then.
