Festive Madison Avenue

Did you see this Christmas card I made with the free Sale-a-bration set Bloomin' Marvellous? I don't know what's got into me but I found myself wondering whether Madison Avenue might be pursuaded to turn festive too... I blame those lovely ladies over at the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown! The challenge there this week is to make a festive 'triple time' stamped card so, armed with Madison Avenue, off I went! Here's what happened:

I've been fascinated with the triple stamp card for ages so it was fun to make one. They're ever so easy: you cut three concentric rectangles, stick them together with temporary glue (a tiny bit of Snail adhesive will do it) and stamp your design as if you're stamping on a single piece of card stock; you then separate the rectangles, cut mats for each and re-assemble.

One of the flowers in the Madison Avenue set reminds me of a snowflake, so I stamped three of them in Marina Mist ink around a Christmas greeting and decorated the centres with an icy-looking gem. To add to the snowy feel I filled in the gaps with the splodge stamp from French Foliage using the paler Bashful Blue ink. It's always exciting to combine stamps from different sets!

This beautiful sentiment is part of the Christmas stamp in Delightful Dozen. I coloured the bit I wanted with a marker and used a Stamp-a-majig to position it accurately. Being a CAS kind of a girl I've tried to keep plenty of white space on my card but of course you can make them as detailed as you like!

Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: Madison Avenue (free with Sale-a-bration), French Foliage, Delightful Dozen (sentiment)
Ink: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Card stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Other: Cherry Cobbler marker, Basic Rhinestones, stamp-a-majig

I do apologise for posting a snowy card today - I know quite a lot of us in the UK have had quite enough of snow and ice! The children have even gone off ice cream - and that really is saying something!

See you tomorrow for more crafting fun!

  3. Super card Vicky, I tried this technique for the first time yesterday. Lovely result and I do so agree that the Madison Avenue stamp is very much like a snowflake.

Send any unwanted ice cream to the Playground - the little horrors will eat it all up in no time!
