Scored By the Tide

I did say I would show you another floral card today but then I noticed the challenge at Make My Monday to 'Make Your own Background'. Although today's card was made a little while ago, I hadn't got round to blogging it - but I very much enjoyed creating the stamped and inked background! Come and see:

It's not so much a flower garden as a garden under the sea! The background was made by stamping the coral image round the edges of the panel using Summer Starfruit and Always Artichoke inks...

... then adding some scoring using the fabulous Borders score plate and sponging over the top to accentuate it. I love the murky underwater lighting effect!

And here's Mr Fish taking a leisurely swim through the garden! (If this were a parallel universe, he'd be rubbing his fins together and saying "lovely winter weather we're having this spring!") He's been stamped with stazon ink and coloured with Watercolour Wonder crayons before being cut out with my sharp paper snips and attached to the card front with dimensionals. I thought this sentiment from Sassy Salutations worked well with the seaweed!

I designed this card for my lovely Stampers 6 club ladies - and here they all are ready to pop into their parcels with a little gift. Of course you don't have to be a lady to join my club - all crafters are welcome!
• My next available Stampers 6 club group will start in June - just in time for all the excitement of the new annual catalogue! If you're interested in joining the fun and getting more for your money, click here to read more about it or here to email me.

Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: By The Tide, Sassy Salutations
Ink: Summer Starfruit and Always Artichoke classic inks, Black stazon
Card stock: Naturals Ivory, scrap of Very Vanilla
Other: Watercolour Wonder crayons, paper snips, Simply Scored, Borders plate, stamp-a-majig

My children are still on their Easter holidays so I'm cramming a lot into my days! They're enjoying their break but perhaps my oldest son is enjoying it most... Yesterday I was dropping him at a friend's house when he said: "I can't wait for the holidays!" I glanced at him confused. "But it's already the holidays," I said. "I know," he said. "But I can't wait for the NEXT holidays!"

Three Minute Thursday is back here tomorrow so I'll be back with a quickie card. Hope to see you then!
