Are you smiling yet?
With fabulous news like this going on I think we need a bright and happy card for today:
YAY! If this doesn't get you smiling nothing will! Just take one look at this gorgeous Strawberry Slush colour and dance about the room singing whoopee doop! Go on - no-one's watching!
The paper is from the gorgeous Quatrefancy pack that not only makes me feel happy whenever I look at them but also coordinates beautifully with the Mosaic Madness stamp set, punch and embossing folder. It's quite a full-on paper but by making the frame in the same paper, and keeping the rest of the design very simple, it doesn't overpower.
The frame was cut four times using my lovely Ovals framelits, once in the designer paper and three times in plain card stock. These were glued together in a stack to look like chipboard and used to frame that fabulous sentiment. I finished the card with some of Stampin' Up's super-sparkly rhinestones for a real celebratory feel.
Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: Happy Day
Ink: Stazon black
Card stock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Other: Ovals framelits, Big Shot with magnetic platform, Simply Scored, Quatrefancy speciality designer paper, Extra large and Basic rhinestones
• Customers placing orders of £250+ will get a whopping £65 worth of freebies during October!
Last night, I overheard my daughter muttering to herself: "Duckling - like a duck, but smaller..." I laughed and joined in. "Earthling," I said. "Like an earth but... no wait!" That got me thinking so I had to look it up and, if you're interested in words and language too, you might be interested in this little overview of the suffix 'ling'.
See you tomorrow,
I rarely comment on blogs (sorry...bad, I know), I have to let you know that I absolutely adore your style of cardmaking. This one is, indeed, a very happy card. Thanks for describing how you framed the sentiment; I never think to beef up the frame with added layers. And thanks for loving language...makes your blog very fun to read. Whoopee doop!! --Doris
