A glimpse of winter with Ornamental Pine by Stampin' Up

Isn't it funny - the moment I start making Christmas cards, the sun comes out! We may be getting some more summer after all but at least I've made a start on my festive cards. LET'S GET STAMPIN'
I used a fabulous, traditional-style set from the new catalogue called Ornamental Pine.

Its dynamic pine branch image is gorgeous and will make great backgrounds as well as traditional Christmas foliage.

I used a shadow technique for the pine cones: each cone was first stamped in Soft Suede ink and then another slightly off-set over the top in versamark which was heat embossed in gold. A stamp-a-majig is useful for this technique. 

The stamp set comes with this lovely, bold Christmas sentiment, which I stamped in Real Red. This clear, bright red is the perfect partner for the gorgeous new in-colour green Mossy Meadow!
