Tray lobster using By the Tide by Stampin' Up

Whatever's happening in my life, I love how Stampin' Up seems to have a stamp set that reflects it! It seems like only yesterday that we were on holiday, and my daughter and I were sitting in the fabulous Rocksalt restaurant at Folkstone eating lobster and salad and generally behaving like a pair of posh ladies! And talking of lobsters...

These soft colours remind me of the coast - Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral and a touch of natural twine. I've used Stampin' Up's wonderful Hardwood background stamp (every home should have this stamp!) and the lobster is from By the Tide which is full of sea-themed images perfect for scrapbooking those summer snaps as well as cardmaking.

To embellish this simple card, I pierced a frame around the lobster, using one of the Essentials Piercing Templates, and wove some linen thread through a few of the holes. The loose ends are secured at the back with tape.

The idea for today's card has actually been in my mind for a long time, ever since I spotted this tray in the homeware department at Debenhams!

And if you're still with me, perhaps you'd like to see the photos of my daughter and I living the high life at Rocksalt?
(Clockwise from top left) the tide was out during our visit but at high tide, the boats bob about in the harbour. The building is modern but built using natural wood, glass and stone so it works well with its surroundings. We squealed at the tiny slivers of rock that came with the coffee - so cute! My daughter studies the menu while I relax in the sunshine.
Thanks for joining me today. I'll have something special to show you tomorrow so do come back and visit me then!
