Bookprint Christmas cards with Festival of Trees from Stampin' Up

Has anyone noticed how the year is speeding by? It's time for some Christmas makes now - and I've been itching to ink up Stampin' Up's Festival of Trees stamp set for ages! Come and see:

This card is clean and simple but it does have some interesting details to step it up a notch.

The tree was stamped onto bookprint which gives it a wonderful textured look. Festival of Trees is a gorgeous photopolymer stamp set which features lots of different styles of tree. I chose a design with baubles on it and decorated these with some candy dots - I love the bright colours against the Mossy Meadow ink.

I have always loved the subtle contrast of Stampin' Up's Naturals Ivory and Very Vanilla card stocks together and I've recently discovered that Whisper White craft ink on the Naturals Ivory has that same 'shades of white' elegance too. Here I made a mask with a sticky note and a pair of scissors and dragged the ink pad in the aperture to create a background.

I had lots of inspiration to help me make this card: Less is More where the Bookprint is the recipe this week; 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown where we're challenged to use enamel dots on a Christmas card; and Rudolph Day (sorry I'm late - I promise I won't be late for Christmas day!) where the requirement is two Christmas cards:

And here they both are! (Just so you know there's no cheating going on!)

My youngest son has joined the Air Cadets and is keen as mustard! I am stunned by his new-found zeal for ironing and boot polishing (he's aiming for top marks at inspection) but sadly my suggestion that I could give him plenty of practice in these skills was met with a marked lack of enthusiasm!

See you tomorrow,

  2. A lovely clean & simple card, perfect for multiple makes. Great idea with the craft ink.
I can't wait for my son to be old enough to join the Air Cadets, my husband was one & became an instructor It's how we met as I was a volunteer running the tuck shop & chaperone for the girls. It's a fantastic organisation, teaching useful life skills, such as ironing! ;-)

  15. The dots are perfect as ornaments for the trees! You've made two great CAS cards. I hadn't thought of using white ink on the Naturals cardstock - thanks for the idea! :) Thank you also for sharing your cards with us at 52{C}CT.
