Quick designer paper Christmas cards using All is Calm DSP by Stampin' Up

Each year, there's always at least one Stampin' Up Christmas designer paper pack that wows me to bits! This year it's All Is Calm - have you seen it yet? It's full of gorgeous, subtle designs, some of which will work just as well after the festive season (thanks Stampin' Up!) I've been making some quick cards with mine - come and see:

These papers are perfect as backgrounds. I've simply added a popped up banner and embellished with Frosted Sequins. The sentiment I've used today is from Making Spirits Bright, a fabulous set featuring some fun drinks images and a set of greetings in an up-to-date font that you'll want to use over and over again.

That banner was easy to make using Stampin' Up's Simply Scored tool and the ribbon tails were created with a click of the 1" square punch. Grey may not seem the first choice for a Christmas card but I love the nordic feel of it with crisp white and a dash of red. These snowflakes are so fun and come in the same pot as the Frosted Sequins.

And this one's so icy looking it makes me huddle into my woollies (or could that be the lack of heating around here!)

I could have gone on making these cards with all the other papers in this pack but I was rudely interrupted by my canine baby, woofing that she needed my attention!

I'll be linking these cards up with the final Rudolph Day of the year. I'd like to say a great big thank you to the fabulous and tireless Sarn for keeping us making festive cards all through the year. She is bowing out as host of the challenge and I'll look forward to joining in with Maureen of Scrappymo who will be taking over the challenge.

I'm also linking up with Just add Ink where I found this grear sketch.

It's just perfect for using your designer paper snippets so I shall pop down to the Snippets Playground with these cards too.

Are you wondering how we're getting on with our pup? Well she's a treasure! Life seems to be conspiring to make things harder than they need to be though. My computer broke down on Sunday night and the boiler gave up yesterday morning! How's that for grim?! We are still smiling though (although there might just be a suggestion of gritted teeth involved and we are wearing an awful lot of jumpers!)

See you tomorrow for the fabulousness that is the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team blog hop!

Poor you! Of course you know the saying that things happen in threes!! Should I break open my piggy bank?

  3. Shame Eva isn't a bit bigger then you could have furry central heating when you snuggle up! Sincerely hoping the boiler AND the computer get fixed soon.

Wonderful Christmas cards using that sketch. Thanks for entering them into Rudolph Day - esp when I know you are stretched time-wise and pooter-wise at the moment.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  6. Gorgeous cards, as always Vicky! I'm looking forward to creating my wreath with this DSP while I'm off, or at least starting it! I hope the boiler is fixed now and that your Mac won't be long too!

  8. Three very different style of cards and a great sketch that you have followed, love the papers and I have also sewn where you can use the SU banner punch for the end of the banners.

  9. Fabulous snippets cards Vicky! Love that DSP too.

I was tinkering round setting this coming week's Mr Linky when I spotted in the behind the scenes workings that you'd had two tries at linking - so I whipped the Playground gates open and linked you in! So funny, you really do have to be fast doing that else there might be a little rush of feet :))

We were scheduled for a boiler service earlier this week and B Gas had to cry off as they had so many emergency call outs - the cold snap we had meant a much higher number of boiler problems. Thankfully they came yesterday so aqll's well and all that jazz, Hope you're sorted out now - did you break a match for the third thing to break?

    Hugs

    Di xx

  10. Lovely CAS cards! The papers you used are wonderful. Puts you in the mood for Christmas and the white stuff...oh wait...we had a dusting of the white stuff last night and are still coping with it on the walkways.

Hope you will drop by my blog in 2015. The Scrappymo version of Rudolph Days will be held from the 25th till the end of each month!
