Handmade valentine or anniversary card for a man with You Plus Me from Stampin' Up

It's Monday morning and I'm in the mood to show a little love! Here's a card that would make a great valentine or anniversary card for a male:

I have fallen in love with the ampersand in the You Plus Me stamp set and couldn't wait to use it. I made a frame with some of the new Stacked with Love washi tape first and then heat embossed the ampersand with black embossing powder. TIP: An embossing buddy is invaluable when doing this as it prevents the tape from picking up stray bits of embossing powder.

I stamped and heat embossed the circular image on a scrap of card stock and snipped the 'You' and 'Me' out to use separately. The shiny gold arrow was cut in a fraction of a second using the What's Up punch and does a great job of drawing the eye down to the ampersand.

And there we are - the perfect valentine for a guy that doesn't like a lot of fuss!

What a truly wonderful girl my darling daughter is - the sort of calm, happy person that lights up a space. She returned to university yesterday so I'm feeling a little sad today.  This was left outside her room by my youngest son who will miss her too - we all will.

It's hard to be down for long with my youngest son around though. He has an unorthodox method  of cheering me up. "I'll have to hugby tackle you," he suggested cheerfully!
