Hello crafting pals!
You know when you're thinking up ideas for a card and a song comes on the radio and all becomes clear? Well no, not usually me either... but today, I give you Purple Snow by Prince! Come and see:
I love these folksy little snowflakes from Stampin' Up's Endless Wishes (retired) and it's always fun to stamp a snowflake in unexpected colours! Thanks to His Royal Purpleness, I've pulled out Highland Heather ink today as well as Mint Macaron and Balmy Blue!
This is a one layer card so I stamped the snowflakes directly onto the card base. I spent a little time embellishing with silver Liquid Pearls before adding an appropriate sentiment from Uniko's Simply Said Blocks Christmas.
CHALLENGES
I'd been wondering what to do with Less is More's Pick a Triangle challenge this fortnight and the snowflakes lent themselves happily to the top triangle in this sketch.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
There's no sign of snow around here. It's been so wet that the fields by the river have been flooded and the farmer has had to move the sheep to higher ground. I bet he's not happy about that but at least a certain floofy someone is enjoying the watery new world!
Eva has discovered a beautiful Golden Retriever living at the bottom of the water but she just can't get her to play!

Hugs,
This is just perfect! I need to pull out this set and make a card like yours!! Love the colors you chose, with the added liquid pearls.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely set isn't it?! Good sentiments too :)
DeleteThat's a delightful snowflake card in beautiful colours.
ReplyDeletePerfect.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Thanks Sarn. Nothing says Christmas like purple, green and blue! xxx
DeleteSuch a lovely card Vicky, love the delicate snowflakes and it must have taken ages doing all the little silver bits!Love the pic of Eva too. It's been so wet around here also but no flooding where we are luckily ;) hugs Viv xx
ReplyDeleteThe liquid pearls were a labour of love Viv! No terrible flooding around here where people have had to move out of their homes but the ground is sodden and the fields are flooded where the river has burst its banks. Such extremes of weather :/
DeleteThis is so beautiful, love the coloured snowflakes with their little dot of pearls, gorgeous. Clever thought of the music too LOL.

Funny how things just get into your head isn't it! x
DeleteSo pretty. Love non-traditional and unexpected colour Christmas cards.
ReplyDeleteYes I do too - although I like a classic card too!
DeleteBeautiful snowflakes, Vicky! Love the purple, blue and mint together!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie. Let's hope it doesn't start snowing these colours any time soon though!
DeleteMy favorite color is a great alternate to traditional ones for Christmas xoxo
ReplyDeleteI've realised that any colour is fine for Christmas! xx
DeleteI love the sketchy design of these snowflakes, and actually forgot that I own this set! What a lovely colour combo and wonderfully CAS. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
