Hello crafting pals!
One of my favourite things about stamping is that you can combine images from different sets to create something unique - and often quite amusing! Come and see:

I coloured the cat and grounded her with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers then added a paper pieced umbrella - so easy to do with the coordinating punch :) The expression on the little cat's face is absolutely priceless isn't it?! But hang on a second, why is the rain coming from only one direction? Could it be that the prankster pup next door has found out how to turn the hose pipe on?!!!
The rain is just a small stamp but with a little masking and a little patience you can easily cover a larger area with it. I added a 'thinking of you' sentiment but would have liked to have used 'Consider me your umbrella in the face of life's showers!' instead. What a shame SU didn't consult me about what kinds of sentiments would go well with this set, lol!!!
CHALLENGES
I'm linking up with the fabulous Festive Friday where they're celebrating the First Day of Spring. Your card doesn't have to be about spring though - the festivity is just a great excuse to list some inspiration prompts! I've chosen Green, Cute Animals and Rain/Umbrellas for my three.
Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge also has a great challenge this month - Use Your Favourite Technique. Like most crafters I suspect, I have lots of favourite techniques, but if I have to pick just one, I'll say alcohol markers (for the next ten minutes at least!)
AND IN OTHER NEWS
As you know, I like to cover the important issues of the day, so here's more hat news: The hat I'm now using is looser than the two I lost and Eva has a new game... if I bend down to pick up poop (sorry non-dog-owners, it's just a fact of life!) or to pat another dog, she whips the hat off my head and stands with it in her mouth, looking at me and wagging slowly. She has a sense of humour that one! Sometimes I let her carry it home for me because I love her, and that's what washing machines are for aren't they?!
Hugs,
Ohhh I like the story of Eva stealing your hat as much as I like the card with the shocked kitty face!! ~ When I bring in my umbrella and let it dry open in the house, both cats get under it as if it's a tent for them ~goofy cats~ I was thinking about this umbrella set.... and now I'll have to take a second look. Blessings on your day!
ReplyDeleteLol. Our cat would have given it a wide berth and looked at us as if we'd brought a land mine into the house! She is no longer with us sadly. i highly recommend the umbrella set - so many ways to use it!
DeleteTruly delightful card with story! I love it! Love your Eva stories.
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm so pleased you do! She is an absolute delight but also a minx!
DeleteAww bless that dog. Useful hat carrier.
ReplyDeleteSweet puddy tat card! xxx
She likes to help bring the shopping in too - for a price of course! And picks up the post for us! Xxx
DeleteThis is super cute, VIcky, although I am having issues seeing all the pix in your post! I love this umbrella set too!
ReplyDeleteThanks LeAnne. I think this might be a blogger gremlin as it seems to be a recurring problem. I have to rename the pictures and put them into the post again to solve the issue - grrrrr!
DeleteLove your cat card and her being under the umbrella your sentiment is great. Love the story about Eva LOL
ReplyDeleteFaith x
PS I can only see the first card.
Thanks Faith. Eva is a loon isn't she!
DeleteSorry about the pictures - I think this is blogger being silly! x
A really super creation, love the images and a great layout.

Thank you! x
DeleteThis card reminds me so much of a cat that likes to visit my garden. He is fluffy and roly poly just like your cat - I don't think he would carry my hat though! - Jacqueline xx
ReplyDeleteOf course he wouldn't carry your hat Jacqueline! Do you not realise that we humans have been put on the earth to serve cats?!! xx
DeleteSo cute, Vicky. Eva is a minx xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Em! You're right about Eva - that's exactly what she is! xx
DeleteSuch a sweet kitty card, Vicky! I just love her expressive eyes, reminds me of my orange kitty Tony "Triple" Paws. I had to laugh at your story about Eva, too. Dogs have such wonderful personalities. Thanks so much for joining us over at Festive Friday!
ReplyDeleteHad a chuckle about Tony 'Triple' Paws Anne Marie! I look after a dog named Ruby and for some reason find myself calling her Ruby Two Shoes! See you back at FF soon!
