Pot plants in good taste

Hello crafting friends!

No more designer paper! That has been my mantra for a long time as I have so many papers. But the In Good Taste papers from the new Stampin' Up catalogue were irresistible and I succumbed! Come and see what I've made with them:

The papers are photo-realistic - all natural textures and patterns based on wood, tile, plaster, brick and fabric. I used a plank of one of the woodgrains as a ground and cut pots out of two of the other patterns.

The pots were given 'earth' using bits of vellum, coloured at the back with a grey marker and I planted them up with leaves from Fall Foliage by Reverse Confetti. I coloured the plants with water-based markers because I didn't want the ink to show through the card base.

The card was finished with a sentiment from Uniko's Simply Said Blocks and I added a sprinkling of sequins.

CHALLENGES
I absolutely loved the photo inspiration at Just Add Ink and took it quite literally! I'm also joining in with Watercooler Wednesday where it's All About Occasions and I'll link up at NBUS Challenge where the brief is to use your Never Before Used Schtuff – I'm showcasing my new papers!

AND IN OTHER NEWS
The heatwave has continued here and Eva's getting her main walk early and by the river so she can dip in and out to keep herself cool. For two pins I would have joined her today!

Here she is panting gently. "Cor, it's hot isn't it mum? Got any snacks? That might help!"

What do you have lined up for the weekend? With all this wonderful weather it is easy for us to visit people safely in their gardens so I've been a bit of a social butterfly just lately. The numbers of infections and fatalities in the UK continue to fall despite all the group gatherings and protests - it is baffling.

I hope you are keeping safe and well.

Hugs,

  10. Hi! terrific card ~ love the paper! I'm with Eva it's hot ~ My walks are early too and I've taken to wearing a skirted bathing suit bottom instead of shorts and It's much more comfortable :) I'm glad your getting to socialize outdoors, we are here too and have gone out to eat as well. Enjoy the weekend!

    1. The skirted bathing suit bottom sounds like a game changer Karen! I have loose linen shorts which I wear with a sort of flowing sleeveless top and that is comfortable. Definitely not brave enough for a restaurant yet but I did go into a clothes store briefly!!

Chica empathizes with Eva. She's currently sprawled on our bed right under the ceiling fan!
