Hello, crafting friends!
Today's card is the result of it being summer, with all its bright colours and tropical vibes, mixed in with the fact that it's the 25th of the month and so a Christmas card is required! Come and see:
I've used one of the trees from Spruce Trees by Inkylicious combined with a beautiful sentiment from Be Merry by WPlus9.
I started with the sentiment, stamping the 'Christmas Wishes' in red ink directly onto a nice thick card base, then adding the banner in black using my stamping platform. I made a mask byy stamping the banner again onto a sticky note, cutting the top of the banner shape out and positioning the mask over the original.
Then it was time to stamp the trees in their lovely bright colours! I chose Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay, all from Stampin' Up. Once the mask was peeled away, I added some coloured gems and voila! What an quick and easy card this turned out to be :)

Delighted to get a shout out from Stephanie and Lauren at Jingle Belles!
CHALLENGES
I was fascinated by the inspiration photo at Jingle Belles, so I'm joining in there. I was inspired by the bright colours and the bottle brush trees. Less is More has a One Layer Card Christmas in July challenge, so I'm also playing along there. And finally, it's Rudolph Day over at Scrappy Mo's, so I shall link up over there too. Happy Rudolph Day!
AND IN OTHER NEWS
I've taken my youngest son back to his new house where he can settle in and be ready for when his university opens up again in September. He gave me a lovely hug when I left him and patted me on the shoulder. "Don't worry!" he said bracingly. "I'll be back at Christmas, The 'Rona permitting!" Needless to say, I felt quite tearful on the way home!
There's always crafting therapy though and my adorable assistant...
... pass the glue Eva!

I would never have thought to brighten the trees up as you have Vicky, I LOVE them, the sentiment is really lovely. A really happy Christmas card. AW! you must be feeling sad at leaving your son. Still Christmas isn't that far away! Aren't you lucky to have Eva and your wonderfully creative hobby?
ReplyDeleteTake care

I wouldn't have them in my house at Christmas but I'm happy to have them on a card! I've recovered my equilibrium now - it was the way he said it! Yes, I'm SO lucky to have my hobby and my floofy girl :)

DeleteAww that's hard isn't it ~ but Christmas break will be here faster then we know it! I'm glad he can at least attend, here it's all going to be virtual still :( Eva is at the ready with the tombow to keep you crafting ~ With love, Karen
ReplyDeleteIt is the right thing for him to do Karen. He needs his independence and I know he will use his common sense and keep safety in mind. So sad that so many young people are having to wait :/ It's impossible to be sad for long with my little Eva around! x
DeleteWonderful colors and love the holiday trees.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
Thanks Diane! Some bright colours always cheer us up don't they!
DeleteAwesome colourful Christmas card you have there. What a helpful assistant Eva is.

Thank you my friend!
DeleteEva is very helpful in the craft room but it's lucky she doesn't get as excited as I do as one sweep of that tail could make everything go horribly wrong! xxx
Wow - not a colour combo I would have chosen for a Christmas card, but it works! Nice masking too :) Thanks for playing over at Less is More.
ReplyDeleteNeil

DeleteI do love that WP9 sentiment - its gorgeous - and I love the fun colours you used. I have to constantly remind myself that Christmas cards don't all have to be red and green so thanks for the extra nudge in that regard. :)
