Hello, crafting friends!
Today is the start of a brand new challenge at Addicted to CAS! Our hostess this fortnight is Sue and she's chosen the word Pattern which gives a whole lot of scope.
I thought of all sorts of fun things to do but in the end I kept coming back to the idea of a knitting pattern!
I used my Knitted stencil from Funky Fossil, cutting a little mask so that I could ink up coloured rows and fading the ink out towards the right of my card. The panel was trimmed to size with a stitched rectangle die by Heffy Doodle and attached to the card base.
The cosyiness of the woolly pattern made it the perfect background for a 'hugs' sentiment. I cut the letters three times out of grey card using the Little Letters alphabet dies by MFT. The letters were stacked and glued together and positioned on the card along with some frosty looking sequins!
Are you ready to play along with us? Click here to see what our special guest designer Milka has made to inspire you, as well as my talented team mates! Remember, ATCAS is a Clean and Simple challenge so don't forget to keep layers to a minimum and leave plenty of that all important space on your design! I can't wait to see what you make :)
EDITED TO ADD AN AWARD
So pleased this card got a mention at The Color Throwdown!
CHALLENGES
I loved Lori's colours at this week's Color Throwdown so I'm linking up there; I'm also joining in at Perfectly CAS where we must use a stencil on up to one third of the card space; Use a Stencil is the theme at Uniko, so I'm playing along there too.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
Have you seen ythose chunky knitted throws and blankets that are doing the rounds on Pinterest at the moment?
Aren't they gorgeous? I know that I am not exactly known for my knitting skills (this is quite an understatement!) but surely even I could make something on massive needles! What do you think?!
Sending hugs for you too sweet friend. Absolutely gorgeous card . . . A masterpiece in stencilled CAS elegance. Xxx

ReplyDeleteFun card ~ I asked my sister to knit me one of these blankets, and we figured out it would cost about the same to buy as to knit since the yarn is so expensive ~ SO ~ you can save your self the work! (unless it's cheaper by you or you feel like knitting!) I like how you layered the sentiment too ~
