A wonky couple of trees

Hello, crafting friends!

It's Tuesday and time for another fun challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches! Patricia is our host for our final two challenges of the year and she has chosen a versatile colour palette this week:

I used the colours to make a very clean and simple Christmas card:

I started by stencilling two of the wonky trees from Funky Fossil's Skinny Trees stencil onto an offcut of white card using the mint colour. After drawing a snow line with a grey pencil, I cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die from Heffy Doodle. I left the stitching around the base and fussy cut the rest of the image. A small sentiment was added to the snowy base in the red.

Using the image as a guide, I stencilled the large star from the Skinny Trees stencil directly onto a thick card base using the Saffron ink. The trees were added to the card base on dimensional pads for a bit of interest.

And now it's your turn! Do hop over to the CAS Colours and Sketches blog to see all the fabulous samples the team has made to inspire you. You'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post and you can use it to link up your own creation. Don't forget to keep your card clean and simple with lots of nice clear space but above all, have fun!

CHALLENGES
I am linking up with Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge where Anything Goes; also We Love Stamping where the theme is Anything Goes with the option of CAS.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
So, how are your Christmas preparations going? I have the tree up and some of the decorations, and I'm suddenly doing quite well with presents and even wrapping... but I've realised that I've gone off piste because it's cards I need to get going with now!! I have already watched Love Actually (and sobbed at the airport hugging montages) but am holding off on The Christmas Puzzle - that's my reward when all the cards have been sent out. I love this time of year!

Sending hugs,

  6. Those wonky trees are adorable - more stencil envy going on here! Love the CAS design of your card. I love this time of year too, although this year am feeling a little off-track (trying to find a PlayStation 5 for the last 4 months hasn't helped!!) The tree will be up this weekend though so that will be a big win!
