Hello, crafting friends!
It's bluebell season again and Eva and I have been walking in woods not too far from us and enjoying its carpet of fragrant flowers. It has prompted me to bring out Clearly Besotted's Fresh Flowers stamp set which has a bluebell image in it.
I stamped the bluebell onto a card panel in a very pale neutral ink, then coloured it with my oil-based coloured pencils. I wondered whether I would be able to add in a watercoloured background so I gave it a try with a paintbrush and diluted green ink, painting in strokes to create a grassy look. It worked! The coloured bluebell resisted the watery ink.
I added a beautiful sentiment from The Greetery's Comforting Commands in crisp black ink. The panel was trimmed with a stitched rectangle die by Christina Griffiths (taller and thinner than my A6 Heffy Doodle ones) and glued to a card front. I found a snippet of purple blue card and cut it to fill the rest of the card front.
CHALLENGES
I was disappointed not to be able to join in with Allsorts' 13th birthday celebrations last week but have enjoyed catching up today where Mervi has chosen the theme of Anything But Birthdays; I'm also joining in with Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
I can't stay chatting today because I have to get ready to go out (and it may take some time!) I am going to eat at a very upmarket restaurant where they have a 'tasting menu'! It's so posh that I am going to have to wear heels and it's been a very long time since that happened! Wish me luck :)
Everything is lovely about this card!
