Stampin' Up products at a discount anyone?

You know that fabulous feeling when something you've wanted for ages turns up in a sale? Well you might want to check the Stampin' Up special offers this week because there are some Must Haves among them - including two of my favourite stamp sets! Come and see:

Here's a notebook I covered with Typeset designer series paper and stamped with the wonderful Choose Happiness stamp set. The paper was sponged with ink and the flowers and leaves coloured with markers.

And what about these little note cards?

The trendy brushstroke backgrounds and the sentiments all come from the indispensable Work of Art stamp set. I simply added punched shapes.

I can't go without singing the praises of the Fast Fuse adhesive. It's quick, convenient and strong enough for boxes and bags - and, once you have it, economical refills are available! To use, just run it along your card stock towards your body and flick to the right to remove from the card stock.

These are just some of my favourites on offer this week until Tuesday 30th June. Check out all the Weekly Deals below :)

My daughter came back from a toddler group sports day yesterday, full of cute stories about the little ones' antics. Her boyfriend's four year-old sister was taking part in the event and was thrilled to have won not only the Egg and Spoon race but also the Balance a Bean Bag on Your Head race! She became very hot and on the way home all the windows were wound down to get a rush of air through the car. It was too much for her though. "Let's turn the windows off now," she suggested.

Wishing you a lovely weekend full of sunshine! I'll be back on Monday with a fun gift idea for girls - don't miss it!

Choose Happiness

We're having a warm, mellow September here in the heart of England and it's inspired me to pair up Stampin' Up's gorgeous Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo and throw in a zing of sunshine yellow! Come and see:

The Choose Happiness stamp set was just made for casual layering like this and I honestly think you could arrange the elements in the set any old how and it would work beautifully!

You might be wondering where these embellishments are coming from? Well the strip of Coastal Cabana and that cute little mini bulldog clip are from the Tag-a-Bag Accessories kit and the pearls were coloured with one of my Daffodil blendabilities pens. I'm loving colouring everything with my blendies!

I based this card on the fabulous sketch over at CASE this Sketch, so I'll be linking up there.

Yesterday my youngest son came home from school and told me that he's really enjoying Physics. I said I was pleased for him and that perhaps he finds it so easy to understand because of his experience on the lighting crew. He looked at me. "You know, I think you might have got the wrong idea about lighting the play," he said. "Basically I'm just shining a light on some people talking!"

See you tomorrow - ooh and don't miss it because it'll be the Artisan Design Team blog hop and there will be amazing things to see!

Christmas with Choose Happiness from Stampin' Up

When you see the new Stampin' Up autumn/winter catalogue in a few days time, I predict that you'll be bowled over - it's bursting with seasonal goodies including the most gorgeous Christmas sets ever! Today though, I'm going Christmassy with Choose Happiness - come and see:

This set is perfect for collage and layering. I made a background with the leaves, the wood pennant and a strip of washi, then added a sentiment ticket and a fussy-cut branch and bird.

Markers have turned my bird into a festive robin and I sprinkled pearls into the leaves for a mistletoe feel. Perhaps that robin bird is hovering about waiting for a charming someone to appear?!

I adore these ticket sentiments from That's the Ticket and this Christmas one is lovely. The set has a matching punch too so you can produce lots of them very quickly!

I'm going to link this card up with Rudolph Day over at Stamping with Pleasure where there's a fabulous Stampin' Up as the prize this month! And because Miss is strict and insists on two cards so that we'll have enough cards at Christmas, I have included this photo:

My youngest son is a treasure who has made cleaning my stamps his own particular job. He's very good at putting the stamps away in the right boxes too but sometimes he can't quite put his finger on which set an image belongs in. "Where do these go?" he asked yesterday, holding out the leaf and a decorative border stamp I'd had out when making today's card. "Er... Choose Happiness," I said glancing at them. "Bless you!" he said politely, thinking I'd sneezed.

I've realised that I promised you something special today and while I hope you liked the Christmas cards, that isn't what I meant! So bear with me - that special card will be here tomorrow instead! Hope to see you then,
