The Language of Love and Stampin' Up sneak peeks

It might be the middle of winter but I'm full of the joys today! It's a beautiful sunny day in Buckingham and the rest of my family are busy so I've snuck off to do a little crafting because I have HUNDREDS of new stamp sets and accessories to use! Well perhaps not hundreds but a whole load because guess what? There's a new seasonal catalogue coming out at the end of this month - whoopee! And that's not all - Sale-a-bration is also coming and that means freebies in a big way! Watch this space for more info.

Meanwhile, my first stop on a Saturday morning is Less is More where the challenge is to make a one layer card using hearts. My biggest problem with that was deciding which hearts to use but in the end those new sets were calling, so here's a sneaky peek for you:

Banners are all the rage at the moment, so I thought I'd stamp a string of bunting across my card! I scored a line first to ground the sentiment and to enable me to line up my flags accurately.

These banners and hearts are from a sweet little set in the new seasonal catalogue called Language of Love. I love the simple style of them. I punched a little heart using my Owl punch to embellish the pennant-shaped banner and added a gem to it.

The scallop comes from one of this year's gorgeous sale-a-bration sets, Petal Parade (you'll be able to get hold of this one for free during the promotion!)

I adore the sentiment with its trendy font! It comes from a wonderful upcoming new set called geometrical. As well as two more fabulous sentiments, it contains an array of geometrical shapes which I know will be so useful in the Crafting Square Metre (maybe almost as useful as Gorgeous Grunge - who knows?!!)

I must apologise for this rather badly made card which was made while I was figuring out my design; I've included it to show you that the sentiment usually says 'Love you so'. A stamp-a-majig and markers makes it easy to tweak sentiments so that they say what you want or fit your project.

Ink: Primrose Petals, Cherry Cobbler, Raspberry Ripple, stazon black

Card stock: Very Vanilla, scrap of Primrose Petals (for the heart embellishment)

Other: Markers, Owl punch, Simply Scored, Basic rhinestones, stamp-a-majig

It is such a beautiful day that it would have been a shame for my sons to have had a lie in this morning wouldn't it? Aha, but there's a cunning trick or two up this mum's sleeve...

A casual "There are freshly cooked sausages here if you'd like some" yelled up the stairs brings a pair of boys thundering down in seconds! There wasn't much left of this little pile after a minute or two let me tell you. Are they boys or wolves?!
