On the third day

Hello, crafting friends!

I am here to wish you a very happy Easter Sunday, the happiest day of the year for Christians all over the world!

I made a few of these one-layer, masked, inked and stamped design this year - come and see:

The most difficult thing about this card was working out which order to do everything! This is the way:
1. Stamp the lilies from Clearly Besotted's Perfect Lilies on a sticky note and cut it out to create a mask.
2. Stamp the lilies off the edge of a thick card base using pale blue ink.
3. Cover the lilies on the card base with the mask and add low tack tape around the edges of the card front.
4. Sponge pale blue ink over the card front.
5. Stamp the main sentiment from The Greetery's Amen & Alleluia in black ink.
6. Remove the tape and mask and colour the lilies.
7. Add the 'He is Risen' part of the sentiment.

Here's a close up of the lilies, coloured with Arteza watercolour brush pens, an SU marker, coloured pencils and a white acrylic paint pen. Get me, going all multimedia!

CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up with Allsorts where Sarah's optional theme is Keep it Simple; also Word Art Wednesday where Anything Goes;  Triple B Challenge wants to see Birds, Blooms and Butterflies and I'm joining in with my bloom; Beautiful Blossoms Challenge also wants to see flowers as the focal point of our cards.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
I know the question burning on your lips: Did the golden girls get any eggs today? Well no, but they DID get the next best thing - some cheese hidden in egg boxes! They have to get them open to access their treats and they have very different ways of doing this.

Eva's way is slowly and methodically getting the lid open - she knows the cheese is going nowhere and likes the anticipation.

Lulu is more of a 'rip the box to shreds' kind of girl. She wants the cheese and she wants it NOW! But then it's all over so quickly, she can't quite remember it... is there any more?!

And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to sample some posh little eggs that my OH bought from a high class chocolaterie on his travels. He knows the way to my heart!

A shining engagement

Hello, crafting friends!

Welcome to the latest challenge from CAS Colours and Sketches! Joanne is doing a great job of guiding us through the month of November and her latest inspiration is this versatile sketch:

I was delighted to hear recently that a lovely couple I know had got engaged and really enjoyed using this sketch to create a celebratory card for them.

I started by masking off the sides of a thick card base with sticky notes, leaving a strip exposed. Into this, I stamped a design with the flower stamp from Clearly Besotted's Perfect Lilies using versamark ink. This was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

The background was coloured with a silver metallic pencil and the flowers shaded with a gold metallic pencil and given detail with a darker gold metallic pen.

I finished the card with a sentiment from Gemini die cut from gold foil card stock. There's a lot of shimmer and shine on this card which I've just not been able to capture on camera but I hope you can use your imagination!

And now it's over to you! The team has made some inspiring samples so do hop over to the CAS Colours and Sketches blog and check them out. As usual, you'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post so that you  can share your own creation with us. We can't wait to see what you make!

CHALLENGES
I used the Silver/Gold colour duo at Color Hues to give a special feel to my engagement card so I'm linking up there.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
The back story of today's card is this: I was looking after one of my favourite little dogs one weekend and had sent photos of him to his owners who had jaunted off to London. 'He's had such a busy weekend of walking and playing,' I texted, showing a photo of him sleeping on his back with his paws in the air. I got a text back with a photo of an elegant hand bearing a diamond ring with the caption 'We've had quite a busy weekend too!' I am so pleased because from the very first time I met this couple, when I went to meet their puppy, I had everything crossed for a wedding!!

Happy yellow lilies

Hello crafting friends!

Welcome to a brand new challenge at Addicted to CAS! Joy is hosting the challenge for the next two weeks and has chosen Flower as her theme word.

It's always fun to get out the flowers isn't it?! I've chosen these pretties from Clearly Besotted's Perfect Lilies, a bargain I recently bought from the company's amazing sale section.

I stamped them in a pale yellow ink then held Funky Fossil's Trellis Background stencil over it and sponged blue ink roughly round the outside. The flowers were coloured using coloured pencils and the card finished with a sentiment from Altenew's Birthday Greetings.

And now it's your turn! There's heaps of inspiration from my teamies over at the Addicted to CAS blog.  Check it out and you can also link your creation up there using the Linky Tool. I can't wait to see the gallery fill up with beautiful CAS floral creations!

CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up with Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge where Anything Goes; and Stamplorations Stencil challenge where Anything Goes; I've not used the lily stamp before so I'll share this card at the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
It's so much lighter now and it's showing up all those dusty corners! I think this weekend is going to have to be the start of my spring cleaning!

Sending hugs,
