FTL Challenge 85 - All a Flutter

There was no FTL challenge over the Easter weekend but it's back today and Natasha has posted a fantastic sketch - see it here. It was the perfect opportunity to bring out my new All a Flutter butterfly stamp from the new mini catalogue and the new Designer Series paper stack - such gorgeous colours! Here's what I made:

And you get a bonus card today because I wrecked the first one by trailing it through an ink pad that I hadn't closed. (What am I always telling my ladies to do...? That's it! Close your ink pads as you go!) This one I was able to rescue by chopping it off and turning it into a 3"x 3" notelet.

You might think that coloured-in butterflies don't count for clean and simple cards, but they do with a blender pen. I stamped them with classic Night of Navy ink and then, using the blender pen, just whisked over them with Tempting Turquoise, finishing with a Pumpkin Pie circle on the wings and Chocolate Chip bodies. It took only a minute or two!

Supplies:
Stamps: All a Flutter, Sincere Salutations, (sentiment on 2nd card is from Happy Moments )
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise
Card stock: Whisper White
Other: Designer Series paper stack, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, (2nd card also uses word window punch and silver eyelet)

Well, I'd better get this posted. The sun is out again today and I have a date to play cricket on the field!
Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hey Vicky - thanks so much for the sweet comment! I love these cards, those colors are gorgeous! I don't think I've seen that paper - is it from the Sweet Pea pack? I just ordered it but it's on backorder! Have a great weekend... Arielle

  2. Pretty cards, Vicky! I especially like the second one with the little tag to the side.

  3. Love these, Vicky! And love how you saved your "goof". What a cute little card. (I get so disgusted with myself when I do careless things -- but, you know me, "no do-overs". I'm in the saving business!)

  5. I like the way your butterflies dance across your card. Blue and orange is one of my new fave color combos.
