Whimsy gift wrap and card

I was called away to Northern Ireland at the weekend for the funeral of my uncle. Although it was a sad occasion, there was a silver lining in that it brought most of our huge family together in a way that isn't usually logistically possible. My mother died when I was very young, and my father remarried, and one of the sad results was losing touch with my family. But about five years ago, I rediscovered them when one of my cousins found out my address, knocked on my door and said "You don't know me but..." From there, we took a trip over to the North coast where we met many members of the family and were given a very warm welcome. One of my lovely aunts always describes it as "coming home", which makes me smile! I feel proud to belong to my family.

But I digress! The reason I mentioned the trip is that I brought a little gift for my aunt, to thank her for putting me up for the night, and wrapped it in hand-stamped paper. Here it is:

I used the Whimsy jumbo wheel and the small flower from Baroque Motifs to make the paper, and stamped a card to match. The ribbon is Brocade Blue grosgrain which is only available while stocks last, so, if you love it, get it while you can! The tag was made super-quickly using the tag punches and the Boho Blossoms punch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Ink: Night of Navy, Ballet Blue
Card stock: Whisper White, Night of Navy
Other: Brocade Blue grosgrain ribbon, tag punches and 1/4" circle punch, silver elastic cord, piece of copy paper

You know, it's quite sad to lose your family but it definitely makes you appreciate them when you get them back! If you have family members you've lost touch with, I highly recommend going to find them.
See you soon
