Birthday with Autumn Meadows DSP

Today is my lovely husband's birthday - happy birthday Simon! As if he reads my blog! Actually, although he's not my most regular reader, he does sometimes look at it and surprises me by mentioning something he's seen here. Anyway, naturally I made him a birthday card. Now, he once told me that not all men like muted earthy colours and that he likes to see cards with a zing of bright colour; "something like the packaging of that l'Oreal hair gel," he said (he's such an eighties man!) Remembering this, I decided to base his birthday card on that design.

I chose the grid paper from the Autumn Meadows pack - and before you think I've gone mad, take a look:

Little blocks of bright card stock were cut to fit the little squares. It isn't all white and bright like that hair gel packaging but I think the contrast between the distressed paper and the sharp clean colour blocks is rather interesting. I did very little else to the card, just matting the paper onto Tempting Turquoise card stock and adding a tab-style sentiment.
