First, a card. After sponging the card front, and stamping the leaves, I used my post-it leaf masks and stamped the script over the top so that it appears to flow round the leaves. Then came the splattered ink image and the post mark and finally the sponging on the edges of the card stock.
I do think this flowing Thanks sentiment looks great with this set.
You may have noticed that I'm just a little bit obsessed with eyelets at the moment! Oh and linen thread too!
I made a little pillow box to match the card. I love the shape of this and how easy it is to stamp, but the best thing about it is that it's a Bigz die so it runs through the Big Shot and hey presto! in three seconds, you have a box! Of course that means that in three minutes, you have 60 boxes - just imagine how brilliant that is for wedding favours or for other events!
Supplies needed for this project:
Stamps: French Foliage, Thank You Kindly
Ink: River Rock, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso
Card stock: Confetti Cream
Other: Eyelets, linen thread, pillow box Bigz die
You can buy any of these supplies from me and I can have them delivered to your address in the UK. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.
While I was typing this, I spoke the words aloud as I usually do, while my daughter amused herself by gently teasing me. "Old Olive..." I muttered. "Ah!" she said. "It wouldn't be a Vicky card if it didn't have Old Olive in it!" I ignored this - but surely I don't always use Old Olive...? I carried on: "Always Artichoke..." I murmured. "Yes, always!" she said brightly. "Without EVEN taking a break from being artichoke!" Isn't she lovely? Every home should have one!
Thank you for taking a look here today. Do come back tomorrow if you have a moment as I'm thinking of having a vintage moment... and no that doesn't mean I'll be feeling my age (even though I will!)
Hi Vicky! Just gorgeous! Missed you and your wonderful creations - (we have been away on a short holiday to Western Australia)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely set, Vicky. The more you use French Foliage the more I think I might have to buy it. But I already own With Gratitude which has four leaves??? What to do? Daughters do have a way of teasing their mothers don't they? Both my daughters are in Iceland right now touring with their violin ensemble so there is no-one here to have a go at me for making yet another sponged card!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love the layered look it gives.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky, Fabulous gift bag, wonderful stamping and masking. Love it, Gay xxx

Another stunner, Vicky. You're making me see this stamp set in so many new ways!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely set you have made. I don't know how you come up with so many different ways to make cards.
ReplyDeleteI couldnt get through the crafting day without linen thread. It is such a great texture addition to projects I find. Although I usually just end up tying it through buttons (nothing fancy or complicated with me). I love your card. Such great techniques and depth to your stamping ;0) xx
ReplyDeleteVicky this is fantastic who would think such a few simple leaves could end up as a card so stunning Luv Sue x
ReplyDeleteFabulous work, Vicky!! The leaves stamp is so versatile...you've done such gorgeous stamping with it, and created some lovely cards and papercrafts xx
ReplyDeleteI love this Vicky, funny, it looks incredibly familiar :) Was really chuffed to receive it. Thank you so much. Julie xx
ReplyDeleteHey, Old Olive is one of my favourites and I would probably cry if I didn't have it!! I also have Always Artichoke but I may have used it once. :P LOVE your card and pillow box!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little set. You layer your images so well together -- I think that's a gift that I don't have. Maybe I should practice more. (Which I'd sure like to find the time to do!... maybe in August!)
