These multi-coloured, one-stamp-and-a-sentiment cards are surprising fast to make if you don't colour the stamp with individual markers. I just inked the whole tree image up with Pear Pizzazz ink, then added touches of Soft Suede to the trunk and branches with a marker. This sort of overwrites the green ink. You don't have to be too accurate and it takes seconds! The addition of an Early Espresso sentiment and a quick bow round the top of the card with the incredibly easy-to-tie seam binding and you're done!
I love the plant images from the Hopeful Thoughts set and couldn't resist making another card using the floral branch this time.
Again, I inked the whole branch up with Pear Pizzazz ink and then overwrote the green with Regal Rose. I love this colour combination! I added a Melon Mambo sentiment and added centres to the flowers with a Melon Mambo marker. And have you noticed I used the lovely flecked Confetti Cream card stock for these cards? I love the extra interest they give to one layer cards.
Supplies needed for these cards:
Stamps: Hopeful Thoughts, Afterthoughts
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo
Card stock: Confetti Cream
Other: Soft Suede, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo markers, Pear Pizzazz seam binding

It may not be the summer heat wave I'm yearning for but it's quite warm enough for the boys to be out building dens. When I called them in yesterday evening, they turned up carrying a ball of string and some duct tape. They'd been building a rope swing they told me but from the way my eldest was rubbing his sore behind I took it the experiment had not been entirely successful!
Thanks for popping in today and spending some of your time with me. Have a lovely day and I'll hope to see you tomorrow.

I really like the floral branch. It's so simple and delicate. Lovely color choices.

So pretty! Who would guess that they were so quick too? Do your boys know that they are a constant form of (kindly) amusement for women on the other side of the world??
ReplyDeleteI have this set and don't use it enough, love how you've inked them up..thanks for the tips.
ReplyDeleteThe floral branch looks so pretty hanging down from the top of the card too, curls lovely round the sentiment :)

Vicky these are so pretty, love that ribbon.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely cards, Vicky, using lovely set. I particularly like the floral branch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for you comments about the black ink pad. My technique for inking my stamps is already pretty much what you suggested so I am finding this stamp pad a little frustrating. I will re-ink the pad itself and see how I go.
Quick, easy, but also very lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cas cards, Vicky!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Vicky - but I think I like the floral branch best. Think I am going to have to order that Confetti Cream cardstock to my nexxt demo order - you have converted me! By the way what size did the cards end up as? Thanks for the inspiration as always! Nicole
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Vicky , quick easy and very effective but you always make them so beautiful. Sounds like the duct tape needs to be replaced with something a little more sturdy !
