Masculine Monday - Easy Events dog walking

Good morning! It's the start of another week and I'm showing you another masculine card - and for a very good purpose too: the St Lukes Charity Challenge is asking for masculine cards this month. St Lukes is a challenge site with a difference in that you send in the cards you make and they're sold to raise money for the hospice which offers support to the terminally ill and their families. It would be great to see more people join in with this challenge, so why not check it out?

Here's the card I've made:

My oldest son adores dogs. He's a teenager, and it's important to him to be 'cool' so it amuses me that where dogs are concerned he forgets his manly pose completely! He coos over any dog from a tiny puppy to a savage-looking guard dog and he and I dream of having a golden retriever puppy (although we have a few hoops to jump through first!) My lovely son is my inspiration for this card.

I've used the tree image from the new Easy Events stamp set to create my background. It makes fantastic bushes as well as trees! And I've used one of the new in colours to colour my bushes - Lucky Limeade is vivid enough to show up beautifully on Crumb Cake card stock! And do you like my boy and his dog? They're created with the All in the Family stamp set on Naturals Ivory card stock - which I think stands out really well against the Crumb Cake. I've only recently bought this set and it's brilliant fun creating personalities with it.

Here's the tree image as a tree! I coloured it in Garden Green this time for a bit of contrast. I love the little heart in the tree - although of course you can use it without. There are lots of different sentiments in this set - birthday, Christmas, late, wedding, thank you, baby, sending love, hello - it really is so useful! And what a great handwriting style they're designed in too!

Supplies needed for this card:
Stamps: Easy Events, All in the Family
Ink: Early Espresso, Poppy Parade
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory, scrap of Poppy Parade
Other: Markers, paper snips, stamp-a-majig
You can buy any of these supplies from me and I can have them delivered to your address in the UK. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593. SPECIAL OFFERS: If you order today your name will go into a draw to win a reel of 1/8" taffeta ribbon in Real Red. If your order is over £25, you will also receive a free Christmas House tutorial.

I hope you had a great weekend. We made a mad dash to the beautiful North Norfolk coast to make the most of the glorious weather. My oldest son had a fabulous time with all the dogs on the beach; my younger son had an extraordinary run of luck digging up coins in the sand; my husband and daughter, who I'm sure have mer-blood, spent their time in the sea; and I was absolutely mesmerised by an extraordinarily talented guy who turned up on the beach with his horse and had me riveted by his skill! So sorry I couldn't tear my eyes away to get a photo of him but here's the beautiful, unspoilt beach at Brancaster...

Thank you so much for your visit today. Are you around tomorrow? I have a card and chocolate box to show you made using the Timeless Portrait papers so I do hope you can join me.

See you soon,

  8. Vicky your card is very cute, and I adore their smiley faces.

I love my golden retreiver,Monty, and he would have loved that beach to run across it to jump in the sea. Sadly though he brings home a beach worth of sand in his fur!!!

  9. What a fun card! I love that you used the tree top for a bush as well. You are so creative! Wonderful beach shot too - thanks for sharing.
I understand your desire for a dog as we have THREE. I'll send you positive thoughts that your 'hoops' disappear and you can bring a furry kid into your lives soon.
    Cheers, Karen

  12. Such a fun card - very cute! Brancaster beach was one of our favourites when Meg was younger. It was great for kite flying and the little hut at the end sold everything, from hot Cornish pasties to inflatables. Never seemed overly crowded either, although I think the tidal marshes saw to that!
