Pool Party Fruit and Flowers

There's a colour challenge at Less is More today and the colour in question is aqua! And since I'm obsessed with Pool Party, one of this year's in-colours and the most gorgeous aqua, there was no holding me back (well actually there was, but more on that later..!) Come and see my card:

The decorative 'Thanks' is from Outlined Occasions, one of the free sets in the current Sale-a-bration promotion.  I stamped it in versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder before masking off the top and bottom of the panel and sponging Pool Party ink all over it. I thought it could do with a little texture so I stamped over the area with one of the flowers from Fruit and Flowers and I really liked the way it turned out. Polishing the embossed area with a tissue got rid of any inky residue and as a final touch to the sentiment I coloured in the centre with Island Indigo which partners beautifully with the Pool Party. Here's a close up:

I added the pierced border to echo the dotted line in the sentiment and added whimsical little flowers and Island Indigo leaves before mounting the panel onto my coordinating Pool Party card base.

Supplies needed for this card:
Stamps: Fruit and Flowers, Outlined Occasions (free Sale-a-bration set)
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo
Card stock: Whisper White, Pool Party
Other: Island Indigo marker, versamark, clear embossing powder, 2-step Bird punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Basic pearls, corner rounder, Mat Pack, piercing tool, sponge daubers
I'd be delighted to order any of these supplies for you and can have them delivered to your address in the UK. I am committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to help and advise. Just send me an email or give me a call on 01280 820593.

I was keen to check the LiM challenge early this morning because I was taking my reluctant boys into town (to replace several items of school uniform which had been involved in a variety of terrible accidents!) Unfortunately the first thing I discovered was that we had no water - the thermometer was reading minus 8.4 degrees C and our wimpy pipes couldn't handle it! The cupboard under the sink isn't my favourite place to be first thing in the morning but after juggling with a hot water bottle and a hair drier in there for a bit, running water was finally restored! Is it nearly spring yet?!

Thanks for dropping in today. I'm off to see what all the other LiMettes have been up to - the Mr Linky display will be fabulous!

See you soon,

  1. As expected, a lovely entry again this week Vicky. Those stamps look so much better 'in the flesh' than the illustration suggests. Funnily enough I was thinking of doing piercing on my card, although I've yet to make a start. Had to go to the JS first and I've also got a ton of ironing. Haven't had any frozen pipes yet but my car wouldn't start on Thursday and had to be jumpstarted.

  19. Another stunning card, Vicky. I never cease to be inspired by your blog. Aqua is really not my colour, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do for this week's challenge. Must get my thinking cap on. Hope the pipes hold out tonight so you have a better start to tomorrow morning!
