Everybunny loves romance!

Regular readers of my blog will know that I'm in the grip of an obsession with the fabulous Everybunny stamp set! I've made Easter, birthday and new baby cards with it so far, but today I wanted to make a card for the Make My Monday challenge and the theme over there is Romance with flourishes and diamonds... Hmmm, Everybunny might not the obvious choice of stamp sets for this challenge but I had the bit between my teeth! Come and see what I came up with:

I'm rather pleased with the background here. I made it by stamping the wonderful flourish from Everything Eleanor in versamark ink and then sponging Bashful Blue ink all over it using circular motions. I love the effect you get from this technique - it's much softer than if you heat emboss it.

Here's my romantic rabbit flinging hearts and diamonds out of his hot air balloon! I stamped the image onto my background and then again on a scrap of card stock so that I could colour Mr Rabbit and the basket, cut them out and stick them over the background. Perhaps I should've given my hero a tuxedo to wear - he'll catch his death of cold like this! Do you like the balloon? I punched a circle out of one of the flourishy designer papers from the free Sale-a-bration pack and sponged the edges to give the illusion of roundness.

The sentiment is from another Sale-a-bration freebie, Outlined Occasions, and I added the word 'with' from one of the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set using my stamp-a-majig for accurate placement. The stamp-a-majig came in handy for positioning the extra hearts too - I took those from the sentiment.

The more I use Everybunny, the more I love it and I think it made a pretty good job of a romantic card! What do you think?

Supplies needed for this card:
Stamps: Everybunny, Teeny Tiny wishes, Outlined Occasions (free Sale-a-bration set)
Ink: Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, Riding Hood Red
Card stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Other: Markers, versamark, 1 3/4" circle punch, Everyday Enchantment designer paper (free Sale-a-bration pack), blender pen, Basic Rhinestones, paper snips, stamp-a-majig

Yesterday I decided to wear this jumper. It was a bargain in a sale a few years ago and I bought it because I liked the neckline, but actually I don't wear it very often because it's not a great shape for me. My daughter noticed it immediately. "Hi Mummy - I like your jumper," she said as she came in from school. "It makes you look like a present!" What a lovely compliment... I think!

Thank you for visiting me here - I really appreciate it. Have a lovely weekend and I'll hope to see you back here very soon.

Hugs,

  1. Hi Vicky, this is my favourite Mr. Rabbit.....so far! I'm sure there will be more to come. Your background and balloon look super, and I love Mr. Rabbit, too. You have a very creative mind, I love the idea of him flinging hearts and diamonds over everyone below...I wish he would pass over here! xx

  2. Loving this card Vicky, it's adorable. You are teaching me to look at stamps with a more open and creative mind. I wonder if the full heart punch would fit on top of the balloon basket for an especially romantic balloon? I shall keep looking up tomorrow in the hope of seeing a diamond-flinging bunny in a hot air balloon!

  7. I'd overlooked this stamp set Vicky, as I don't do Easter cards, but you've shown it's use for so many other occasions that I'm going to have to have it. Especially love your card today, that soft background is just lovely.
