Whole latte love in three minutes

It's Three Minute Thursday today and that means there's a fast card here today! I've been enjoying using Patterned occasions this week and it was great fun prettying up that gorgeous little cup for a feminine love note or valentine. Come and have a look:

The basis of this card is the Primrose Petals Core'dinations card stock. I love this stuff - it has a paler core which can be revealed by sanding lightly (particularly effective when the card stock is dry-embossed first) or you can leave its fabulously subtle texture as it is - as I've done here.

I topped the card stock with a Tea Lace doily from the new spring/summer catalogue, trimming the overlap with my sharp paper snips. Now the card was ready for its teabag-style tag.

The cup stamp comes with a sentiment so all I had to do was colour the rubber with markers, stamp onto Whisper White card stock and cut it out with a click of my tag punch. Once it was glued at a jaunty angle to the card front, I finished it with a knot of this gorgeous stitched grosgrain ribbon attached with a glue dot to the top of the tag.

Here's what you'll need to make this card
Stamps: Patterned Occasions (free Sale-a-bration set)
Ink: In colour markers (I used Wild Wasabi, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals)
Card stock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain ribbon, Large Tag punch

All this talk of teabags is making me want a cup of tea! When my youngest son was tiny, he always used to ask me if I'd like "some cup of tea" and solemnly pour me out a cup of water from his plastic teapot. It was obviously excellent training as he is quite happy to make me a cup of the real thing now!

I've had an idea for a little gift to go with today's card so, if it all goes according to plan, I shall show you tomorrow. Hope to see you then,

  5. Hi Julie

The Stampin' Up markers contain the same ink as the ink pads so you can use them to colour the rubber on your stamp before stamping to create a multi-coloured image. It will also match other areas of stamping that you might have used the ink pad to produce. They come in all the SU colours. Feel free to contact me if you want any more info!
